Football has always been a game that brought people of different colours, of different languages, of different continents and countries together. Especially this form of it, the world cup and it is doing so again on steemit.
This international football tournament is the brainchild of Jules Rimet, the FIFA president as at 1932. The inaugural edition held in Uruguay, with only thirteen(13) participating teams and you wouldn't believe the reason why - Long distance travel!🤣😂
It's a good thing that technology has solved this seemingly funny but menacing problem and has led to a gross expansion of the sports. Now through @anomadsoul & @acidyo, thanks to them, it has once again been expanded into the blockchain, increasing people's awareness and involvement with it.
Speaking of involvement, it will interest you to know that football was onced dropped from the Olympics sports because of it's low popularity and the high number of amateurs involved with the game. You can imagine an empty stadium when a football match was held, whew! Thankful I wasn't "around" then.😂
