If you want to get better at writing, then follow the following tips.

  • Daily visit your favorite blog and make a point to read at least one post from the blog, in no time you will notice, you have developed the same tone (when you continously read something you sorta start imitating it.)

  • Each day, dedicate sometime to book reading too. The more you read the more it will increase your vocab.

  • When you read, always keep a highlighter with you and highlight the relevant content that you might wanna visit later on.

  • Mark the difficult words when you read, either simply highlight them, or if you are reading on your PC/laptop, write them on your sticky notes.

  • Once you are done with reading, find out the meaning of the difficult words you saved on your sticky notes . Now intentionally try to use them in your own sentences. You can ask your friends to check if you have used them correctly.

  • ALWAYS note down the interesting words on your sticky notes you might find interesting while reading a blog post.

  • Make a point to read something that you have an interest in.

It could be books from different genres. For eg, you might be interested in adventurous stories, or suspence, it could be chick lit or maybe romance.

Choose something that you are genuinely interested in, so that you don't put the book down merely after reading it for 5 minutes. It could even be any book related to marketing/blogging/motivation, or maybe you can read my book on procrastination.

In my next post, I would like to talk about, "How to create content that stands out from others and make your readers fall in love with you." If you are interested, show some appreciation and comment!
