Steemit is a social community with a blogging platform; we all know that, but for some who had a blogging site before coming on board, apparently it's with little problem as they tend to adapt and flow into the community. Coming up with content is no new thing for them.
The problem of a newbie isn't just about adapting to the steemit community but also blogging in the sense of it. In here, it's not enough to create an account doing nothing and expecting reward someday...No, No, No....Just not going to work that way.
A great blogger actually blogs. Consistency is key here. A blogger writes a lot. No short cut about this, you need to be prolific. You need to put serious time into writing, editing, picking the perfect picture.... Persistence is of great importance.
Planning ahead is key. True to it, a times you may feel dry and clueless, but effective planning ensures you have a line of thought per time such that you have something to come up with.
Bloggers are learners. As important as the learning curve of steemit is, same is the learning curve of a blogger. Blogging is a long shot as such a lot of learning is needed. If you want to stay ahead in blogging, be curious, keep your brain active and keep learning.
Self starters. In here no one tells another to write, since that's the primary use case. So in here, you need to be self motivated. No one gives you deadlines, no preps, no.... Being a self starter means self motivation. It's not enough to have a good idea, you need to act on it.

I'd say 3 important traits of a top blogger would be consistency, having an open mind & writing skills. I by the way, am open minded..... lol
SteemIT provides not only writers but good readers even to be a part of it and earn some valuable money. What better option would one want to do what they like the best and still earn.

I agree with both the original post and your reply! Not everyone is a great blogger, nor would we want them to be! Those who are blogging though will benefit greatly from putting in the effort and professionalism. Right now everyone is so busy producing their own content that I fear it's lessening the reading and interaction. Steemit will actually thrive when we have more dedicated readers, consumers, and fans. These fans can still benefit, as long as they're willing to comment and engage with others.
We also have options on the way that will enable people to post on the Steem blockchain in a form more like Instagram or Twitter, so we'll soon have a lot more options for rewarding content than just long form blogging.

Wow, great point there you know. I've sincerely asked myself over and over if i'm actually becoming a better writer because more than the votes and all, i wish my content are read in depth rather than the superficial that comes most time
I too hope that the work instead of only INCREASING also becomes WORTHY enough for the readers and the users.
And i hope rhe blockchain has a speedy future towards great progress 🙂

I think the major key to succes as a blogger is to love what you do. And been consistent and persistent comes next.
The bitter truth is that steemit is no different from other blogging platforms. You have to write comment and associate with other bloggers to succed in the world of blogging
I think they key is providing quality content that you (as the blogger) actually care about. Consistent quality content that you are passionate about always wins.

If in my opinion, the most important for the top bloggers, he has intellectual, genius, work, high imagination, clever and wise. We can learn a lot from a writer/blogger that actually delivers a content that will benefit the audience and that I think is the most important of all keeping in mind the good aspects off blog-making.

I think the most important thing for a newbee like me is to stay focused on what I want to reach with this. Posting maybe 10 blogs and then give it up because there is only little reward is no option for me. And the second one is: have fun on what you are doing, enjoy yourself.

You took your time and wrote it down very well. Of course consistency and great value is key, but not necessarily the quantity. If you write somthing good, you first need to think about: "How can my lines attract readers to read in patience my content and is my content i wanna write interesting on a larger scale" ? - Before doing all that, take a look outside into the reality, do not look at the clock, take a walk of 1 hour and then write down why you want to write about theme X,Y or Z. If all factors are smiling - then blog. Happy blogging !
