Over this delightfully festive holiday time me and my family have been down with an absolute sod of a fever, which began on Christmas morning.
Brilliant.
So in the days following on, we have been in recovery mode; past the high temperatures, aching limbs, headaches, sore throats...we’re now in the exercise of shouting “WHERE ARE THE TISSUES?” every 8 minutes.
Now, for me the real downside (except for not being awake long enough to watch a decent film) is that I’ve now been left with a... cough.
I mean a real meaty chesty can’t-be-contained-and-wakes-up-the-neighbourhood-dogs kind of cough.
The real problem is that I’m starting work shooting a video project on the 3rd Jan for a client.
And the last thing I need is to be COUGHING LOUDLY and uncontrollably behind the camera during our long takes.
The usual supermarket solutions tend to be typically useless.
I would love your home remedy suggestions
Comments very welcome, thank you in advance and happy new year etc
You needed an expectorant which can be bought over-the-counter at the pharmacy. Then to speed up recovery just take Vitamin C and make it everyday @ashtv
Thank you @cryptopie. I didn’t even realise expectorant was a thing.
Yes an expectorant cough syrup will make you cough out phlegm. But if your cough is an allergy you needed an antiallergy (antihistamine) tablet.
If your phlegm is yellow it might be an infection so you needed an antibiotic prescribed by a doctor. @ashtv
Also take vitamin C regularly because it will make you resistant to such common sicknesses. :)
Great advice. Phlegm has gone but the daily vitamin c is a good call! 👍🏻
You could try Robitussin Dry or Benylin Dry. Whichever has the most dextromethorphan. Anything containing DXM would be my choice as it definitely has other benefits, although they may not be very well documented.
Oooh nice suggestion. Thanks @ejt3x
Check out some mullien. It can be made into a tea or smoked. I've had good luck in tea form.

Fantastic! Great suggestion @bpangie. Tea form is definitely my bag

Thanks, and for the record I have NEVER (ever) used a bidbot :)
(I don’t actually even know how to use one)
