Hey Steemit!
Welcome back friends ☀️
This week I traveled to Dallas, Texas to perform the show Opus Cactus with MOMIX Dance Theater. In response to Hurricane Harvey, MOMIX Dance Theater and TITAS Presents at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, teamed up with the American Red Cross to raise donations for hurricane survivors and even gave away free tickets to evacuees.
"If Salvador Dali and Leonardo da Vinci were inspired by National Geographic you’d get Opus Cactus, Moses Pendleton’s amazing evening-length work about the desert world. With their signature dance illusion style, MOMIX explores the mysterious creatures and cacti of the desert. Surreal, wondrous and massively creative, there’s nothing like the MOMIX performance experience. If you’ve always wondered about dance, MOMIX is the ticket. "
-AT&T Performing Arts Center
“Inspired by the flora, fauna, and simple magic of the American Southwest, Pendleton’s ingenuity, theatricality and cunning imagination are seen at full stretch in strange vignettes of the Sonoran desert.”
-Clive Barnes New York Post
With an audience of 2300 people at Winspear Opera House, we hope that we were able to help raise a sizable contribution to those who have been relocated due to Hurricane Harvey.
🚨 If you would like to help out Houston, you can make several types of donations to the American Red Cross. Not only are financial contributions and food and water being accepted, but blood drives are being set up to help the injured, and workforces from across the nation are being mobilized to begin rebuilding the community.

I can see how the dancing does evoke cacti and desert flora and fauna. The pics are nice but the video really needs to be watched to understand the movements. Great job and good effort for Harvey survivors!
Thanks for watching! It's such a unique theatrical experience. Glad I could share it with you.
This performance is beautiful, it reminds me of Cirque Du Soleil!
Thanks for sharing.... I'm so inspired by all the efforts being made around the world right now - People going above and beyond, to help others who they've never even met!
We will grow stronger through this struggle....together, we can help change Victims into Victors!
Thanks for your support! ✨
