What is the widest mountain on earth?

while measuring any mountain range usually we don’t consider the width of the mountain as it creates a sort of confusion . Because while measuring height of the mountain the distance b/w peak and the sea-level is considered. But to measure width it is a difficult task . since the base of the mountain varies depending on the terrain.

For example the colorado river of north america cuts through grand canyon(southern rocky mountains) in such a way that the base of the mountain have been severely eroded.

Even the various geo-morphological processes affect the mountains , plateaus ,hills in such a way that they get deformed , uplifted , eroded.

This is the reason why width is not considered while measuring the mountains. But for the geographical mapping and other land census records the width and area of the mountain is recorded.
