One thing people don't get is that there are people out there that try to prepare for every single scenario. What may seem like a luck encounter in your head could be a calculated encounter by the other person to get a certain outcome. There is less chance involved when you know what's going to happen in the future do to past experiences. It's like leaving a jar full of candy at a kids party and telling them not to eat any of it. Preparing for something means that the outcome of certain human actions are so predictable that you'll be able to know how to respond appropiately when needed.
In your life you'll most likely meet a lot of people. A lot of them will have common character traits. If you want to understand people better you should try to identify all those common traits. Even though people are unique, our actions are usually more or less the same. Once you see the pattern it will be a lot easier to have and hold a conversation with almost anyone. You don't have to wait for random luck when you're able to create your own luck. The only thing it requires is you paying attention to your surroundings.
