DIY FACE MASK // Indian Healing Clay and Apple Cider Vinegar🍎

in #blog7 years ago

Hey Guys,

I hope you are all having a wonderful day today! Today I wanted to share with you one of my go-to face masks whenever I want to relax, put a face mask on and take a hot bath. I feel like a whole new person after I give myself an hour of "self-love". As you may already know, I am 100% plant-based and like to live a healthy and minimalist lifestyle. I do not like to use any mainstream beauty care products because a lot of the beauty companies do not tell you exactly what is in the product or when you read the ingredient list, all of the ingredients are chemicals that you cannot pronounce, let alone comprehend what the chemical does to your skin.

Your skin is the largest organ in your body and since it is porous, it easily absorbs what you put on it. Because of this, it is very important to pay close attention to what you are putting on your skin and the ingredients in your skin care and body products. The majority of mainstream beauty products contain harsh chemicals, carcinogens, allergens and irritants. By selecting organic and natural products for yourself, you are taking a huge step toward a healthier and more minimalistic lifestyle.

With all of that being said, my favorite face mask is 100% Natural Calcium Bentonite (Green) Clay mixed with Bragg's Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar. I like to make it more on the liquidy side and applying many layers to the skin.

Bentonite Clay has been used for centuries around the world for better health and to prevent disease. Bentonite Clay is composed of ash made from volcanoes. The clay benefits your body by helping draw-out many toxins and fight various diseases. It has negatively charged ions while most toxins and metals have positively charged ions, so the Bentonite Clay latches on to the positively charged molecules and draws them out of your body. When used topically on the skin, Bentonite Clay is able to latch onto the bacteria and toxins living on our skin and draw them out of our pores. It can also clear blemishes, rashes, alleviate redness and can heal poison ivy.

Apple Cider Vinegar contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids that can help remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin as well as balance the pH of your skin, reduce blemishes because of it's antibacterial and antiviral properties, reduce age spots, minimize the appearance of wrinkles as well as draw out toxins from the skin.

Directions:
Pour about a tablespoon of both Bentonite Clay and Apple Cider Vinegar into a small mixing bowl. Mix the two ingredients together until the clay is completely dissolved. Next carefully apply layer by later to your face, avoiding the eye and mouth area, until you have a nice layer on your skin. Now let it sit and dry for 5-10 minutes for delicate skin or 15-20 minutes for normal skin. While your skin is drying, you will feel it pulsating and will feel a pulling or tightening sensation. I personally love the sensation. After your mask is completely dry, rinse off with warm water. You might have a slight redness of the skin, that is completely normal and will go away within 30 minutes.
