01/04/18 The Quickie: 200 followers and my first Dtube upload experience!!!

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians! Welcome to the Quickie! I can’t believe I made it to 200 followers! This literally would not have been possible without you guys. Thank you so much for your support. I continue to see the growth and potential of this platform and I am ready to ride the wave with all of you! Furthermore, I was actually able to upload my first Dtube video for the first time. The process behind it was very frustrating and took a lot of time, trial, and error.

It's amazing that this kid as grown up since the meme was first created

I had been wanting to upload to Dtube for a while and if you have been following the Quickie for a while now, you know that I see Dtube as the next potential Youtube platform. However, the lack of entertaining content is currently not present for it to expand and sustain and I see that as an opportunity for many Steemians to become the personalities and representatives of the Steem and Dtube platform. So that is what I did. I made a simple introduction video. The video is not that long but the process behind the uploading too forever. I had to try different formats, file settings, and different computers just to find out what really works. Although my first video is uploaded, I’m not entirely sure if I am able to recreate that process and keep it consistent. We will have to see.

When it finally went through, this is pretty much what I felt

That’s it for this post. How have your experiences with Dtube been so far? Have you been able to successfully upload videos on a consistent basis? I want to know what you have done. Thank you guys again for getting me to 200 followers. I hope to give you more quality content in the future. Thank you for checking out this post and have an awesome day everyone!

@chrispy99 Glad things are working out for you. What video format did you end up using? I have had trouble uploading to dtube and was wondering what finally worked for you?

Well, I tried to upload originally in 1080p but noticed that all of the videos were uploaded in 480p. I tried using that and I would get "IPFS error when uploading". I saw a comment in another post that mentioned that it could have been just saturation in the system if I met the requirements of making the video under 1 GB and in mp4 format. I tried at least 3 times and then went away for a bit. Then uploaded it 2 hours later in 480p and that time it worked. I'll still keep an eye on when it is ideal to upload because it could be regionally related or some other thing outside of my control.

Thanks for the info.
