So yesterday in Franklin we had lots of fun in the sun hanging out at Balloon Fest. Food trucks and people everywhere. The smell of kettle corn permeated the air and families gathered from all over Middle Tennessee to watch balloons take off.
Man let me tell you, there is a lot of work that goes into setting one of these bad boys up. It took these guys a good solid 30 minutes at least per balloon from unpacking and unfolding each balloon, to setting up the baskets, to filling them with giant fans, and then finally heating up the air inside to get them floating. Not to mention fighting the pretty heavy breeze that graced us with its presence!
Though it took a few hours to get everything set up, as the sun went down, it was definitely a sight worth seeing as the balloons glowed in the night from the torches filling them with hot air.
All in all, it was hot and humid, but a really great time to spend with family and friends while getting to see something that you don't see everyday!
