Have you ever noticed how the word, "hatred" can be found in the word, "shattered?" In the Bible it says, God is love. "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." 1 John 4:8 God tells us to love him first, then love our fellow man. "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Matthew 22:36-42. He also tells us that whatever a person sows, he will reap. This means what you do will have consequences that will come back on you. "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Galatians 6:7. But what if these consequences were wonderful? What if we sow seeds of love? What if we sow, instead of the hatred so many sow: nurturing, kindness, affection, gratitude, and genuine compassion? What could we do to our world? To our families? To our friends? What about the shattered hearts? Is there hope for them? God says so, "And he that sat upon the throne said, BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful." (emphasis mine.) And also, "The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit." Psalm 38:14. What if we were the love that put those broken hearts back together? What if God used me for that? What if God used YOU for that? Will God use you to put those hearts back together? Will it be me? Will it be you?
