To all who are reading this article, a happy new year!

Today, here in Brazil, a new phase begins, for some of hope, for others of fear and doubts about the inauguration of new president-elect Jair Bolsonaro.
As it could not be different, a great structure is being set up to receive and protect several diplomats and heads of state who will be in Brasilia to preside over the inauguration.

Hopeful markets with new government

There is great expectation from the market regarding the measures that will be taken by the new economy minister, guru Paulo Guedes. His more liberal speech drew attention positively and generated great optimism from investors, who in the past pressured the leftist government for economic reforms.

1And it is not just the market that eagerly awaits the new minister's work. On several occasions, Bolsonaro has admitted to not understanding anything about economics and having a blind and absolute belief in his "Guru."

Fears for democracy

Following a campaign fueled largely by aggressive rhetoric, the fears of a large part of the population remain due to a possible weakening of their civil liberties and democracy as a whole.
On some occasions, people associated with the new government have shown an interest in greater control over the press and less independence of the three powers.

Something that has been very worrying for some time, is about a change of mentality by people who no longer want to have to accept living in a multi-cultural society. These sympathizers miss the time of the military dictatorship in Brazil, as well as the new president-elect and a good part of his team, who try to legitimize this government by calling it a "military government", denying that it was a dictatorship, thus trying rewrite history.

Fight against corruption

Another important pillar for the Bolsonaro administration is the fight against corruption, represented by its new Minister of Justice, Sergio Moro, considered by many as a hero, after conducting Lava-Jet Operation that led to the imprisonment of former president Lula da Silva, entrepreneurs and much of the political class in Brazil.

PT supporters and activists from the left accuse the new minister of being biased in the trial and sentencing of former President Lula, after accepting Jair Bolsonaro's invitation to form the new government.

2019 promises ...

This was a summary of the main points awaited by the Brazilian people about the new Government. I'll probably have a lot to post on this blog here at Steemit.
