Letting Go of Attachments

in #blog6 months ago

Hi teacher David.

I just found out that you had a podcast and listened to the latest episode.

Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. My current attachment is a person that I am no longer in contact with. I want nothing more than to not think of this person anymore, and just "let it be."

How can I break an attachment to a person that I cannot stop thinking about?

Hello there…sure, I will help you.

Hi teacher David. I just found out that you had a podcast and listened to the latest episode. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom.

Sure, pleased to help you.

As you would like to seek guidance, you are welcome to reach out for help and support on your journey to Enlightenment.

My current attachment is a person that I am no longer in contact with. I want nothing more than to not think of this person anymore, and just "let it be." How can I break an attachment to a person that I cannot stop thinking about?

You will need to do “Reflection on Death” also referred to as “Contemplation of Death”.

I explain this at the end of this class to help Students learn how to do this. This would be the best way to train the mind to “let go”.

But also, its best to do this once the mind has established a well developed practice of Breathing Mindfulness Meditation and generosity. These two practices will train the mind to “let go” and combined with the reflection of death, the mind will be able to more easily "let go".

More fully, I suggest you learn The Eight Fold Path with the resources that I provide. Either in the books, audiobooks, videos, podcasts, classes, courses, retreats, etc…..is what will help you learn and practice the complete Path to Enlightenment.
