Many claim all hope is lost for the 🇳🇬Gaint of #Africa,
but i'm a persistent optimist that all will be well in the long run.
It's all too common to see the affluent leave their motherland to go seek "quality" healthcare in well-to-do countries
and this has left me baffled time and time over.
It's also stale news that Nigerian doctors are leaving in droves for "greener-pastures" overseas
And are doing quite very well too
News flash:
A very recent tragic event was narrated by a close pal to me about the President's Son being in an accident and of course my first question was:
'What country was he taken to for treatment?'
And then i heard 'No, he's being taken care of here'
I was literally dumbstruck.
Then,
And afterwards, a warm fuzzy feeling
Last i heard he was well treated, and should be discharged soon.
If this kind of attitude towards indigenous healthcare is encouraged, positive changes will be noticed in no time in both training of medical students and the performance of doctors.
To cap it all;
I believe there is hope for medical practice in #Nigeria
I believe it's a 'hit' not a 'miss'
We just have to believe too.
Much love.
