December 14th, 2022 ~ Microplastics

in #blog2 years ago

Hi there ❣️

I've been reading about microplastics lately. I didn't hear anything about them until a few days ago when an Instagram post showed up on my feed.

It was about a slice of cheese being seen under a microscope. Microplastics are part of our diets, and we didn't have any idea about them. They can be found in vegetables, fruits, water, salt, shellfish, and many others.

According to Medical News Today these are some of the dangers we get from intaking them:

  • "Research has shown that exposure to BPA plays a role in infertility in males and females alike, as well as in the development of polycystic ovary syndrome"

  • "Experts associate higher blood levels of dioxins, phthalates, and BPs with pre-disease states of inflammation, impaired fasting glucose, insulin resistance, and obesity, significantly elevating the likelihood of type 2 diabetes."

  • "Persistent exposure to microplastics in the gut is toxic to immune cells, causing dysbiosis — a disruption to the gut microbiota — and leading to an overgrowth of “bad” bacteria."

I must admit that I was not worried about it. In fact, I was fascinated by the discovery of it because I'm a microbiology fan.

It took him some time to see the particles because they were deep inside the cheese slice. Once he found them, he had to run some lighting tests to be sure that what he was seeing was indeed plastic.

But the real reason why I decided to make this post is that today another Instagram post popped up in my feed. This one was about the solution for our system to get rid of them. The answer is: to sweat.

This makes a lot of sense because sweating is not only a mechanism to cool our bodies. But also a way to get rid of toxic waste or anything else we don't need.

We have to keep in mind that we can not see microplastics with the naked eye and that we have eaten them all of our lives. So, now we have another good reason to start working out asap if staying healthy is a priority for us.

Would it be possible to completely get rid of them? I don't have the answer to that but the least we can do is try.

Thanks for reading.

With love,

W.

Well in winter we sweat less even we may try some exercise. I'm a person who get sweated a lot in summer and after reading from you I guess sweating is not that bad. Thanks for this informative post.

Yes, you're right. It's very hard to sweat when it's freezing outside. I think getting a hot bath or working out at home could work.
Thanks for stopping by ❣️

you're welcome and thanks again for such awesome ideas, have a nice day. 💕
