Depressing as the title may be, I have found myself over the last few days a bit down.
I didn't want to write this post but feel that it may help someone that is feeling a bit shit right now.
My routine was kinda disrupted travelling to Hanoi, so my good efforts with the gym and eating went out the window!
A wee bit about me
Back home in Scotland, I suffered severely from depression, something that almost cost me my life.
Knowing that I needed to change something, I left Scotland to travel and do good, by helping charities and those in poverty.
I knew leaving everything behind would be the cure for my depression. By helping others and experiencing different cultures, it opened my heart and eyes. I saw the real beauty of the world. I found my purpose!
What I do when I'm feeling shite
Well after a few days feeling sorry for myself. I give myself a good shake and get back to the things I know work for me. I have to force myself!!!
- Go to the gym; this gives a well-needed boost of endorphins.
- Eat healthy food.
- Focus on the good things in life.
- Speak to friends
These are the main things I do. What helps you? Comment below ☺️
What's crazy is that everything is going well in my life. I do miss my ex-girlfriend, and that plays a big part in feeling shite 💔.
I know things will get better, they always do. For now, I just need to keep working away and looking forward.
I'm feeling better just getting this out. I know there are many of you reading this that probably are going through tough times. It would be easy for me just to say, do this and that. But the truth is, we are all different, we all suffer in our own ways. Just know that in time, this shite time will pass.
Keep it real
Derek

When I am feeling down I like to travel to Vietnam and meet up with some bloody legend of a Scotsman.
Haha, some night out mate! Was a blast!! Hope to see you both soonnnn.
I was in a situation like you @dereckcowan. I was suffering from depression but at a normal level. I have read your share and feel and I understand you!
I think you should forget all the unhappy things, you should cheer up. because I am your friend! You can share your sad stories with me. I am ready to listen. And I want you to have a better life and happiness.
Thanks for your kind words @hoaiquyen, all will be good in time.
I have seen many people suffering in silence, I'm glad you posted it and I heard you. God bless you @derekcowan
It's all too common, unfortunately. Thank you for your comment ❤️
My method is going to a quiet place and reading books. This is the most pleasant moment for me.
By the way, was you in Sapa in the picture?
Yeah, quiet time is good. My mind is so active at times. That distraction is often necessary.
This was in Himalayas, Nepal.
Wow, I thought Himalaya was snowy all the time.
This is at about 3000m, so the climate is quite nice. Snow comes to cover the peaks in the winter.
