Nice to see you have Roseate Spoonbills in North Carolina! We have them here in Peru as well, they have been seen occasionally in Quebrada Pariñas, Talara, near Lobitos where I live, especially during wet/rainy times of El Niño. Quebradas are water channels that are dry most of the time here in the desert/dry forest northern coast of Peru, but they spring to life with the very rare rains, also forming a delta/swamp when they meet the ocean at the beach. That means fun times for migratory shorebirds! Congrats on your exciting sighting and interesting post.
