Drones will be used to carry medical supplies from Hampshire to the Isle of Wight, the government has announced.
Well this is interesting and encouraging. I'm all for drone deliveries. This one can hold up to 700 litres, litres of what I don't know, but that is some space!
Drone deliveries will ease road congestion and emissions. It will bring faster deliveries for those that need them urgently (such as the emergency services). I do expect as this is a fixed wing type aircraft people are less likely to be concerned about their use. People are more averse to the ubiquitous and very noisy rotor types, like many consumer drones out there.
I hope that this use case opens up the market and encourages more innovation and better regulation in the UK.
