Known and Former Guilds
Dungeoneers Guild
A ‘rival-style’ guild which tends to challenge the existence of any ‘adventurer style guild’ which emerges in the world.
They operate broadly, and under many guises, they may seem just a little ‘ahead of your crew’ and they stand ready to respond to rumour, hearsay, loot and developments faster than your would be start up bunch.
Vinteers Guild
Frequenters of land, protractors of borders, purveyors of the finer things, brokers of information, and truly the finest stores of wines.
Buccaneers Guild
#buccaneersguild
Freebooting, loot em or die trying collective whose sole organisation is to band against law and order, and look out for the little guy.
Privateers Guild
Operating strictly within the bounds of ‘mostly transparent’ funding, this group is the ‘sailcloth’ and if necessary the arm of the law. They have a necessary rivalry with the Buccaneers Guild, but there are surprising joined initiatives.
Mutineers Guild
One of the emergences of the commonality of Privateers and Buccaneers Guilds, as both them, and others in general view mutiny as a heinous crime. This guild promises to look after such individuals, removing them from public shame and belittlement, to use their talents for greater things in the world. They have interests in ‘extreme voyaging’, trade, mercenaries, security and even custodianship.
Orientneers Guild
Explorers far and wide, this world needs to be mapped, traversed detailed, and shared. However there is also a ‘near sacred’ duty to protect it, and few are better equipped to identify, respond to, or thwart an invasion into the known world.
Sonneteers Guild
Though bards, performers and the charismatic of all walks do tend to fill their ranks, this group is also steeped in influence, persuasion, and the rare art of rooting a deeper and true understanding of the world. There are some too who say there is more power in a word that meets eye or ear.
Racketeers Guild
Gather ye with a gall and a spite, those who see wrong in the world and would take action. Sowers of chaos, enacters of revenge, unveilers of truths, settlers of debts and scores; this group also has broader interests in trade, information brokerage, and even regime change. They look upon themselves as equals, and the only ones willing do the necessary
Mount’neers Guild
Whether you pref to sit atop steed or berg, this collection of stalwart individuals secures a steadfast knowledge and position in the world. They have keen interests in mining, exploration, travel, trade, borders, mineral extraction and related security. They are also guardians of ancient knowledge.
Sloganeers Guild
A near mythical organisation, with very little known of it, it may well have been a predecessor to the Dungeoneers and Sonneteers Guilds, those learned on the subject think it likely that it was they who coined all the famous Guild names after they enjoyed success influencing spoken, written word, steering even public opinion, discourse and outcome with their stratagems.
Nearly the entiery of their work is lost, but those same learned folk state the belief that there is a high liklihood that incorrectly attributed, or anonymously attributed names, tales, honours or deeds are infact linked to their doing. It is thought that they coined the very concept of ‘anonymous attribution’.
Publisheers Guild
With a tight binding on vast amounts of written literature, this Guild brought a longer longevity to books with their page preserving blanche as well as cutting edes and book-back-binding technique which have here to for been unparalleled within a mundane context.
Other Misc Guilds:
Camaleers Guild
A collective whose interests solely lie with facilitating the distribution of goods and commerce through the lands. They have a key charge in protecting merchants from predation of any means. Formed out of a need to protect caravans travelling from distant lands, which is a duty they still perform to this day.
Profiteers Guild
A less dubious wing of the Racketeers guild, focused solely on the acquisition of return on investment. You have to spend money to make money. Franchising opportunities available.
Sightseers Guild
A wing of the Camaleers Guild, whose interests instead focus on the facilitation and safe-keeping of ‘pop eyed human cargo’ wealthy enough to travel the world. They are also affiliated with the Mutineers and Orientneers Guild.
Gadgeteers Guild
Not known to have a ‘defined model’ as many other guilds of the world, but its there, somewhere, lying probably forgotten beneath a pile of intricate looking scraps.
Pamphleteers Guild
Someone has got to make a living servicing all these guilds, some academics point to this small but extensive network of publishers and publicists as the closest modern remnant of the Sloganeers Guild.
Leafleteers Guild
Mostly in stealth mode, with ‘new age’ signage and decals, these are the new kids on the block in Guild promotion. Its going to be a veritable dust up if the Pamphleteers ever catch them in the act of inking.
Pioneers Guild
Steeped in innovation and agility, this guild has revolutionised managing projects and delivering technologies considered to be on the fringe of possibility.
