Getting back to being me: Day 1

in #blog7 years ago

I'm not really going to count days, but had to start somewhere and thought starting at number 1 was best.

I took my weight this morning as a starting point and I am 78.8kg (173.7 lbs). That's about 10kg (22 lbs) over where I was B.C. (Before Child)
I also took some measurements as I think that will be a better way for me to track progress (I don't really like weighing myself) I'll add these measurements into a later post.

This photo of me is from just before I was pregnant. I know, I know, it's a selfie! But to my defence it was for a challenge we had at the gym to post a "sweaty selfie". I'm not usually the kind of person that would take a photo like that. However, for the purpose of this post its come in handy and will be my inspiration photo to stick with my goals. That's where I would like to get back to.

My plan of attack to 'get back to me' is to Just Eat Real Food (JERF) and try to exercise each day.

I'm going to aim to eat good foods for the majority of the time. I will allow myself to have foods that are not 100% clean on special occasions, but these are not to be an everyday thing.

I am starting out small and am just adding in more good foods to try to push out the bad ones.
Hopefully over time my daily intake of fruit and vegetables will have increased drastically.

I'm treating this as a marathon, not a sprint. It took my body a long time to get out of shape, so I think it's fair to take a while to get it back.

Thanks for reading!

So you're a Sean Croxton fan too, huh? (JERF)

Hi. I initially heard the phrase JERF from Sarah Wilson, the "I Quit Sugar" lady. But I just did a quick google on Sean Croxton and I think I've just found a new podcast to listen to! Thanks for that! :-)

Good luck with your goal, you can do it!

Thanks so much.

Keep working hard ,, transformation is easy all you need is perseverance . Well i am waiting for your next post in 68 kg .. 😉

Thanks. I hope that I can get back there! Im just happy to have my goal and the motivation to work towards it.

Awesome and so inspirational!!
I havent even had any kids yet and I'm waay heavier than that - Dont be so hard on yourself. Goals are awesome and I've been meaning to get back on the healthy eating and exercising bandwagon too but never found the right push. You are now my push girlfriend!

Will definitely be following your journey - as I with all of your posts anyway but this one will have more of a personal feel. I like it. Cant wait to watch and follow you succeed!! 😁

Thanks so much! I thought that by putting this out there that it will give me the motivation to stay on track. Hopefully by summer I'll be back in shape!
I'll keep posting but I don't want to overdo it with the posts and bore people.
But if you're getting motivated from me then that's even more reason to keep on track too.

Ack don't sweat the clean, the real food is enough! XD (don't mind my slight paranoia, I have known people who just about developed eating disorders over obsessing about how "clean" their food was).

Go you good thing :D [waves imaginary pompoms]

Thanks so much for your support. Yeah, with our budget it won't be as clean as it could be, but I'll just stick to real food.
Thanks for the cheer. I can't wait to feel like my old self. Also, since my girl is starting to eat I want her to learn good habits from me and learn to love real food..

Good luck, remember it took 9 months to gain the weight so give it time and be consistant

Thanks, very true. It did take time to come on so its makes sense for it to come off slowly too.

Your welcome
