Good day dear Hive Community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my contribution and hope you had a weekend full of positive experiences! In this post, I would like to talk about mythology and hope you can expand your knowledge.
Here you can see pictures of the Greek goddess Iris who is also known as the personification of the rainbow and she is also known as the daughter of Elektra and Thaumas. She was responsible for making the rainbow appear and furthermore she was also regarded as a messenger of the gods and could even generate wind and that gods could use her services as a messenger, a rainbow had to be seen and her best-known traditions come from Homer from his work Illis. She was also known for having delivered messages several times during the Trojan War and in ancient Greece people thought that when a rainbow was just seen, messages were spread about Iris and she is also mentioned as a mediator of disputes as in the history of the Argonauts where she arbitrated the dispute between the sons of God Boreas and her sisters. The well-known flower genus of irises was also named after her, which is why I have integrated some into my illustrations and it also occurs in medicine and the iris of the eye is associated with her. Iris is also often seen in art and numerous painters, sculptors or other artists have been inspired by her to create their works.
Thanks for taking the time to read through my post and I hope you like it and can learn something new about mythology!
You have very good knowledge about Great Mythology. I have also heard a myth about the rainbow that there is a treasure at the end of the rainbow, is this true or false? 😣😟😵😩😩😩
Glad that you appreciate what I do :) That’s true! In Irish mythology, there is a legend that revolves around the topic and is associated with Leprechaun.
