True, but again fruits and vegetables have vitamins, minerals, antioxidants enzymes and less sugar in them vs processed.
"A Princeton University research team has demonstrated that all sweeteners are not equal when it comes to weight gain: Rats with access to high-fructose corn syrup gained significantly more weight than those with access to table sugar, even when their overall caloric intake was the same. "
There's an ongoing debate on artificial vs natural sugar. Likely from a scientific standpoint that debate will keep going on for a while since people will have stuff to support that sugar, HFCS, and such isn't much different from fructose in fruit. I just know logically and anecdotally I've never seen people gain as much weight off of a diet of fruits/veggies as a diet of refined sugar. And honey bees live longer, healthier lives on honey vs table sugar.
Though I agree on all things in moderation. Your body needs a wide variety of nutrition from fruit and vegetables.
