In our institution of learning today especially the tertiary institution there are alot of students that are dropped out, some are still in school pretending they are students just to continue getting financial help from their parents /sponsors or to cover the shame of going back home just when everyone has known that they are in school.

In Campus today 40 percent of the students you see in school are not bona-fide students, some are people that have one issues or the other.
In this write up the writer took time to do lots of research on the rampant cases of drop out. What made me write this is what happened recently. I ran into an old high school friend who told me a story that made me did research and came up with this write up. In this write up I want to list some of the causes of school drop out.
1.) Societal factor: In our society today, tittles like Lawyer, Doctor, Engineer and Pharmacist are so pronounced and so people believe that no other profession is good and so much population of people are going into the University to study this even when they are not good and this leads to lots of students having issues and dropping out.
2.) Parental Factors: Majority of the African fathers and mothers are the ones choosing career for their Children just because something happened to them for instance they had a quarrel with a legal practitioner, they will want one of their children to go into school to study law even when that child lacks the capacity to do so and this leads to drop out.
3.) Peer group/ Friends: Lots of students have made the mistake of choosing a career that their friends have chosen even when they know they can't function well in that field, all these leads to
dropping out.

With this we can easily reach out to them and advice them what to do and also give proper orientation to those that are up coming not to make this kind of mistakes that so many has as a result of wrong choice of discipline.
