Being involved with cryptocurrency for over 6 months now I thought it might be a fun idea to go through the events that lead to me being here on steemit today. The only place we can start is with I found out about cryptocurrency. I’d actually heard about Bitcoin quite a few years ago but didn’t know much about it or what it was. Then when researching ways to make money online 6 months ago, Bitcoin popped up again and I fell down the rabbit hole of researching into cryptocurrency, particularly watching YouTube videos and finding this massive community behind it that I never knew about. This is where I learnt about mining and took me to my first couple of endeavours in cryptocurrency.
NiceHash and Faucets
When looking into mining, NiceHash seemed like the easiest to set up and so I went ahead and downloaded. I had just bought a new gaming laptop after Christmas so I had a decent GPU to start mining some Bitcoin and so started the slow progress of mining. After a short while I found out about faucets as another way to gather up some cryptocurrency. From around a month of mining and collecting from faucets, it came the time that I would lose it all.
Metizer
Shortly after I got my first payout from mining on my laptop, the site Metizer started to gain more and more popularity. Being new to cryptocurrency, I got sucked in, not suspecting that it was ponzi scheme and invested my first $10 worth of Bitcoin. Only a month after I put in my investment, the site shut down and I lost my first bit of Bitcoin. It was a little disheartening to have that lost but in that month I had cropped up another $10 worth of Bitcoin, and so I went on to my next investment.
Eobot
Eobot was and is a much more trustworthy cloud mining investment. The mining power is a lot more expensive but you know that it is more trustworthy. I put in my second $10 into eobot and started mining, getting a bit of a return and building up a small amount of cryptocurrency everyday. A short while after, another cryptocurrency investment was blowing up in the YouTube arena.
Steemit
This brings us closer to where we are now and the activation of my account on steemit 3 months ago. Within the first month I had made over $400 worth of steem and locked it away in steem power, where it still is now. While being on steemit I was able to make my first ever purchase with crypto and buy a couple of blu-rays. I traded in all of my mining power in eobot for a 24 hour contract and received an extra 16 steem to power up but came back to eobot a month later, documenting my progress here on steemit, something that I’m still doing by investing my steem dollars regularly. As of yesterday, I did start a power down on steem. This is not because I am leaving steemit and in fact only plan to take out 1 or 2 power downs to go for other endeavours in cryptocurrency and continue the journey, making for an interesting future.
As you can see from my journey I have never invested any of my own money in cryptocurrency and is just everything that I have been grinding to earn. Of course I’ve been involved in a few other things, like Burst mining, but I was not in these for long, or made much from them, so they weren’t worth mentioning too much.
I hope you enjoyed learning about my experiences with cryptocurrency. Something that my steemit blog is going to continue to do with my future endeavours in time to come. If you did enjoy an upvote would be very much appreciated and be sure to follow me for more content. Also, please do leave a comment; I enjoy reading them and try to respond to every comment that I can.
I two am quite new to cryptocurrency and mining, is steem mining profitable though because many people say its not worth it?
I haven't tried myself. I'm sure there's more profitable alternatives. In fact the price rise of Bitcoin recently has made mining that a lot more profitable
Yeah I think I will try nexus coin as I have a spare laptop, But thanks for the reply.
