Hey there pretty people,
It is Saturday night over here and I am sitting in bed writing you this post. This with the purpose to get rid of my flocking thoughts. Because some nights my brain just would not shut up and writing is then the only remedy. So here I am.
Sometimes – when insomnia kicks in - I try to imagine what other people are doing right now.
Obviously some people are just sleeping at this moment. I visualize those people in their warm and cozy beds, laying there all alone or with their soulmate, who could be a man or woman, a teddy bear or maybe a dear pet. It is easy to visualize those people, because I am one of them. After I silenced my flow of thoughts, I will cuddle up to my kitty who is already moved to dreamland.
However, others need some hard core imagination, because they are farther from my reality and I am blessed for that. For instance, some people would have to find a place to sleep right now. They do not have their own comfortable bed and therefore have to spend their night laying on the cold street tiles. I guess some of them try to get used to the hard life on the streets and just hoping to get a full night sleep without being chased away.
Than you got the party people who are alive and kicking as we speak. I remember the time that I was hanging out in the city with friends, spending our Saturday night shaking our booty, getting wasted and chasing boys. We were some serious bad gals, but time has changed and we all became sleepy heads on Saturday nights. Maybe like it supposed to be, what does not mean that I can miss those damn party times at certain moments.
Last but not least category of imaginary night people before I quit my stream of thoughts: the night workers. Those superheroes, entertainers and ‘simple’ money makers. My boyfriend is one of them, working now at a youth hostel in the middle of the city. Probably he is busy keeping order in a tangle of stoners and drunkards. Lucky him for having fun at work. Hopefully that applies to all of the people working late hours tonight.
So whatever your way of spending Saturday night is, I hope you have a good one and feel free to share it with me down below in the comment section.
‘Groetjes’,
Jessie
