Recently, I was asked, "Does faith come from God or man? I didn't have a response at that time, but as I went about my day, an answer came. My response is in Romans 10:17 that says,
"So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Faith is similar to one of those challenging math assignments where you have to imagine an unknown variable. According to the meaning of faith, it is challenging to hope for what you cannot see physically. Faith and trust vary in that respect (trust is having confidence in something).
Exercising your faith is a spiritual activity, so your mind and your emotions must be in alignment with your spirit. Because of this, you should be careful about what goes into your vessel. Faith does not simply appear; it is a product of what you must have heard. What you’ve heard or what you know would keep you going if you were in a situation where you need to exercise your faith.
You need to guard your heart from unnecessary voices; not everything you are offered is what you receive. If you were offered a crate of spoiled eggs as a gift, you wouldn’t receive it because spoiled eggs smell bad, so you know they are bad. We also need to channel this energy towards what we allow into our spirits. The same way you would not take in a bad egg into your body, we should also discern what comes into our spirit.
I recall a time in my life when I had to exercise Faith. I was to leave home for school in a land where I knew no one, absolutely no one. I was scared because I didn't know how I was going to survive alone in a new environment. I was always grunting and complaining to my mom, but her response to me was, "Jesus would go with you".
My thoughts were still clouded by my human reasoning until I took the matter to God in prayer. He gave me a Bible verse and told me to believe Him. It was still not easy, but I had to run with that word, and the WORD helped me!
The Bible says, "Faith comes by hearing the word of God," which suggests that in order to maintain your faith in God, you must continue to hear His word. You must study in and out of season, just as you must pray without ceasing. God's message ought not to depart from our minds, mouths, and hearts. Confess the word of God always.
To keep us alive, we need to regularly consume God's word, just like a plant needs frequent watering. As we study the Bible more frequently, our faith in God grows stronger.
You also need to be careful of the individuals you associate with. They will have an impact on your level of faith. Show me your circle of company, and I'll explain why you're getting the outcomes you have.
Make sure you're not surrounded by people who will present you with other options instead of waiting on the Lord.
That addresses the question of whether hearing God's message is the source of faith.
