[1] Blog Update 7th September 2019

in #blog5 years ago (edited)

Blog7.9.pngHello everyone on Steemit! This is my first blog entry where I will be embarking on a self-development journey.
I am currently working on various projects such as:

  • Back-end development for a website
  • Reaching higher levels in pentesting
  • Programming and creating an AI
  • Writing and researching topics

So far I've been rooting a few boxes in HackTheBox. For those who aren't known to HTB, it's essentially a website that gives you the opportunity to hack servers that emulates reality. It's been a huge improvement for me as I've learned tons of new commands, tools, and theory! I'll probably be giving a better explanation and more in-depth introduction to the things I've done in order to give you, the audience, a better taste as well. But anyway, this is the introduction to my work for now!
These are the new tools I've worked with lately:

  • [x] Burp Suite
  • [x] Recon-ng

I was using Burp Suite to set up a proxy for one of the HTB boxes. I was trying to intercept a packet and then manipulate it and send it back, but I had to take a break because it was driving me nuts. HTB seriously requires patience, trust me on that. I've also been studying Social Engineering and Manipulation, and I was building a database within Recon-ng to see what information I could get. It was a good exercise.
I have also been researching AI and Machine Learning to get to know and understand the fundamentals of the topic. So far I've read a book about Artifical Intelligence, as well as making a foundation for some sort of "goal" I have in mind.

I have been working with C in Arduino, and Python in small mini-projects, but none have been rather difficult. So I definitely need to exercise on my coding skills in order to come any further in that field, even if AI these days are coming to a point where you don't even need programming knowledge to make one- just like Content Management Systems today (website builders).

Anyway! I thank you for being interested in what I'm trying to do. I'll probably be writing technical articles about the work I'm doing to teach others more about this as well. Things like write-ups on HTB, how-to articles or other interesting stuff like the documents I've written below.

I highly suggest students like me embark on this journey together with me! If you're more interested in my plans, you can check out my introduction

I found this post just randomly browsing the steemit tag (looking for some nice positive steemit news to get me hyped!).
This post is a bit too tech for my brain to understand but it was enough to make me check your page out!
I saw you aren’t getting much attention on your posts yet, which is a shame as you are obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about this stuff!! And making some great posts!! All the qualities of a great steemian!!Hi @genezyz!

So I had to give you a follow and say hello and welcome to the madness!
Your info is great and formatted nicely (better than I usually do!)
But to really get noticed and up and running on here it really helps to show you are a real person, perhaps with more blogs, some humour (if you are that way inclined!) and your thoughts on life or somethings like that!
(It was my second attempt at an introduceyourself post that first got me noticed).
So I reckon the best way is to do another introduce yourself post, this time with some pictures (so a thumbnail will appear) and maybe talking more about how you found steemit / steem blockchain, what caught your eye about it, why you signed up and how you plan on using it/ what will you be posting about/ what kind of posts you will be upvoting.

Also I noticed that lot of voting occurs on here because real people want to help and support other real people.
You are doing great but you just need some personal posts to gain an audience and show that you are a person, not just an account posting info.

I hope that all kinda makes sense!!

....I was gonna write more but I don’t wanna outstay my welcome!
And I really hope I don’t sound patronising, I just stopped by to say it takes a while to get going on here! Keep up the good work and don’t forget that people love good content here, but they love the people behind the content just as much!!
(Apologies for giant message btw I been typing it for ages!!)
Have a good one! ✌️

Wow, thank you so much for the reply, I really appreciate it!
It's so nice to see that there's people on here that really wish the best, that warms my heart. :)

I will definitely think about the things you told me such as creating more personal vibes and show who I am, and perhaps make the content easy to read as well. Thank you for the good feedback, I really appreciate that.
