Wedding bells everywhere, guys! Am I like the only one here with so many wedding invitations this year? I bet many of you have tonnes of upcoming wedding parties to attend some time this year. If you've just got married recently, congratulations and blessed marriage! Also, if you are getting married this year, congratulations too, and try to cut lose some of the bridezilla and groomzilla decisions :D HAHAHAA!
Anyhoo, I just attended my first Thai wedding yesterday. It was a simple, up-close and personal wedding event with an array of Thai wedding rituals and offerings for the couple and their respective families. My colleague explained the significance of each step throughout the rituals, and it was such a humbling experience for me to learn a new wedding culture. I am not entirely confident to share every bit of details here, thus I shall let the pictures do the talking. :)
I have always admired the beauty of weddings ever since I can remember. I can spend hours and hours scrolling on my Pinterest app in search for new wedding theme, colours, style and decorations. As a matter of fact, it was that one 1998 movie that sparked that deep fascination in me. The Parent Trap. I was (still am) just very much drawn to the quintessence of the movie. It was not until I grew a little older to know that there are options available to me to be part of this magnificent 'beauty'. That is to be a wedding planner. However, this job scope was not sought-after in my home country; couples here rather had their own friends or relatives plan their big day (totally makes sense, of course). I journeyed on becoming a teacher, and maybe, just maybe, I might just take that road not taken soon, or at least get a bunch of first-hand glimpses and experiences.
Geez!
