Hello,
I am 23 and have been on the World Wide Web for many years. More precisely, I already spend half of my life in this thing, which we colloquially call the Internet.
On 30.11.2019 I finally started to learn the subject of programming. To accompany this process, there is this diary. For me it serves as motivation, for one or the other perhaps as inspiration.
After completing the introduction to path selection at Codecademy, I started the Web Development course.
The whole thing starts with an introduction to HTML, which contains at least the most basic elements of the programming language. I finished this lesson yesterday.
In the following I would like to list the contents:
- HTML Tags
- HTML Document Stadards
- tables
- Forms & Form Validation
- Semantic HTML
For me, the whole thing has already brought a little added value, since I could understand the code quite quickly, at least in parts. So I looked on Github for some samples, which I would like to have a closer look at.
Based on my research I also bought a text editor that was suitable for coding: SUBLIME text. For the time being I am satisfied with this program, because it simplifies programming considerably.
In the end I tried to change a website template with my gained knowledge, which already integrates CSS and JavaScript elements. Of course this is just a gimmick and yet, it was a lot of fun for me. Here is my result:
In the next step it goes now to the basics of CSS. The styling of the website is on the agenda. I'm looking forward to it!
Thank you for coming with me on my way. Maybe you have special tips for someone like me who wants to find their way in the world of programming. Please, share your tips with me.
I'm also always open for hints regarding the optimal setup of a programming environment or contacts for first (small) projects. Just leave me a message.
Greets X
