RE: Being broke and not finding a job – At least I have Steem

in #blog6 years ago

To be fair, you did say you were getting a job :P
But I don't think it's a bad thing, you know, that you didn't... Maybe it's for the best. A job doing what? Serving food? Stacking boxes? Deadening and soulless...Solutions for the short term only, in my opinion, because those jobs kill you.
I love this story Ozzy Osbourne had about how he was working in a factory or an abattoir or something, you know, when he was a kid, and how he was disgusted and scared to death when some old guy retired, half deaf, but with a gold watch to show for 50 years of his life. Knew for sure he didn't want that. And it didn't turn out so bad for him, now, did it?

SF4 is on my mind too. But hey, it could be in the US or somewhere so far away and so expensive to get to, we might be saving up for something impossible. I mean, much as I'd like to go (and I really would, I agree with you about it being one of the best things in life so far), I do like to keep it in the back of my head that it might turn out to be so phenomenally expensive that I wouldn't be able to go even if I saved up everything for it...
You know, never save too much and for too long for some distant plan that might not work out in the first place.

Take your time to find something that makes you happy or to nurture it, if you've found it already. Explore. You're only young once :)

You really like pushing the no-job agenda do you? :P

I get where you're coming from, thing is, I have different perspective than you because Finland has big salaries – massive compared to Romania – few months of work and I could easily go to even US.

Short term is exactly what I need, I don't need to stay in a job for a long.

No worries about that happening with my current bank account.

Seeing Roeland's latest post I believe SF4 will be in Asia, might be Thailand :-) Just saying so we can start saving up as much as possible! It won't be as cheap to get there as this year, but once there everything might very well be included in the ticket price since it's probably going to be cheap to rent hotels and such.

Thailand? That is hitchhikeable from Europe. Don't even need a plane :D

Muhahahaha :D I once took a train from Moscow to Beijing and I can recommend it as well. Oh damn, now I'll start dreaming <3

The trans-Siberia train!? Oh my, that's amazing!!!

YESSS it really is! Although technically if you 'bend down' towards Mongolia/Beijing they call that one the Trans-Mongolian. Going to Vladivostok would be the Trans-Siberian. It was so much fun I'm planning to go to Vladivostok as well some day :D
