This was a few days, before my last year birthday I was trying to get my photo shoot done before 18th. Let me start from
The beginning of this day, I had already scheduled my appointment with my hairstylist and he had my hair with him. My appointment was scheduled by 10, and I had already given my makeup artist time for my booking. I started calling my stylist and he wasn’t picking, I called and called till 9:30ish that when he picked up and told me he was on his way to the shop, so I headed there thinking we’ll meet up or he will get there before me.
I got to his shop and this guy hasn’t showed up it was alright past 10 and I was agitated, finally his apprentice came and opened the job, i asked her about her boss and she said he hasn’t called her, after 15mins of waiting I then called him and asked for my wig because I couldn’t wait anymore. He processed to beg me and said he’s just 5mins away, I decided to wait and this guy still didn’t show up, already pissed I asked the apprentice to find my hair which I collected and left. I knew I was going to be late so I quickly sent a text to my makeup artist informing her to shift my appointment an hour back unfortunately she already had an appointment scheduled. I called my friend and asked if she has a stylist close by willing to just lay my hair on me as this was a frontal wig, luckily for me his shop wasn’t far from the plaza. I rushed to his shop and he laid my hair for me in the space of 30mins. There wasn’t time for baby hairs like I wanted because that would take longer so I had to wear my hair down, I even wanted an updo but couldn’t because of time and I was not happy.
On my way to the makeup artist, my Uber had a flat tire, like how worst can this day get? I ordering another ride but had to wait extra 10mins, my makeup artist was already calling me asking if I would postpone which I couldn’t because I had also scheduled an appointment with my photographer.
Thinking I’ll leave this horrible day behind, while prepping for my makeup my contact lens started acting up, my eye was unbelievable teary as if I haven’t worn contacts before. Thank God the makeup artist was patient and understanding. My eyes were red and teary we had to take off the contacts 2 two times and I almost gave up but I already imagined my look, I don’t have the hair I wanted now I can’t have the makeup I want. I almost cried but she just kept telling me to take my time and relax, she was to relatable we started gisting and my eye stopped hurting, the makeup went smoothly I didn’t feel like my face was being pounded by dozen of makeup. She did a good job and I loved my look. She even helped styled my hair, Then I changed and took pictures.
On getting to my shoot it was already 6ish which means sun was setting and we needed that dewy glow, my photographer had to set up and we actually used a different location that what I intended because the time spent going to the place plus traffic we won’t be able to catch the last sun set. We were running out of time and My ballon wasn’t ready, my friend had to bring my balloons and she was stuck in traffic, she barely made it at the right time and we had to rush the photos, as some point we will take one and wait till the sunset and take again😂. We also had to use an empty open restaurant and this is how it turned out.
I was really happy with my final look and I thanked my crew for coming through, people really liked the photo shoot and I kept recommending my makeup artist and photographer. No one believed it was an empty open bar restaurant because of how the picture turned out😂
