It's one of those things, everything seems fine until there's smoke coming out of the engine.
We found the problem and it wasn't as bad as we feared. One of the belts was slipping until it snapped. Thankfully the car is still safe to drive, but steering will require some effort.
Meanwhile we are enjoying some home made cookies.

Car troubles always suck but at least it wasn't too serious. You can rest easy knowing the repairs will probably be around a few hundred or less, instead of a few thousand. lol
