Thanksgiving Survived!

in #blog23 days ago (edited)

I shouldn't make such a melodramatic title, but while today was relatively sedate, the week so far was not. Winter always means increased aches and pains from chronic illness and old injuries, so the recent "bomb cyclone" was extra-challenging. Then, at the Friendsgiving party for which I made deviled eggs, something disagreed with me.

Sunday morning was spent dealing with diarrhea and stomach cramps. Maybe something was contaminated with dairy. Maybe I have an un-diagnosed shellfish allergy, although the battery of tests I took years ago didn't reveal that to my recollection. It didn't feel like food poisoning or "stomach flu," so I think I can rule out bacteria and viruses.

As the day wore on, I felt like I should make an effort to attend another friend's early Thanksgiving gathering. I was tired and not feeling my best, but I forged ahead. On the whole, it was worth the challenges of still making urgent restroom visits from time to time. I even spent the evening at another friend's place playing video games.

Monday, I spent most of the day in bed. I was exhausted from too much activity, too many social demands, and excessive peopling in general. My introvert social battery and physical body both needed recharging, and I did very little.

Tuesday was work at the library. There were fewer patrons than usual, but the courier work was as much as ever. Wednesday was similar, but less busy still. We had a college student finishing an assignment online, and a few families stocking up on books for the long holiday break.

Thursday (today, as I write in the evening) was spent sleeping in, then meeting one of my sister's suitors, and trying to help keep tabs on my niece, her very busy and noisy toddler. I also lent a hand in the kitchen before dinner was served, washing up some of the dishes and such. Dinner itself was good. Then I returned to my lair to continue recovering.

I'm still tired. I just need a post for November 30th (UTC time), and I should have completed a Power Up Month and a monthly posting badge. My next retrospective post on December 1st will be much longer than usual as a result. I should also be able to make my last 100HP Hive Power Up Day badge for the year.

You're copy/pasting more irrelevant rants. You clearly don't hold DOOK or LOL, so your token calls are just an attempt to spam by proxy when they decline your token calls. You're not engaging with anyone's content. This is why I downvote you. Be a better person.
