A woman was created by God with the sublime purpose of being a helper and partner of man. In today’s society, this message means something diminishing. However, in the Holy Scriptures, in the manuscripts of the Old Testament, “ezer kenegdo”, means respect towards a “good helper” or “someone who helps and responds”. Therefore, this term should never be misunderstood as a reference of an inferior being or simply a worker in service of the masculine sex.
In some biblical passages, this same term is used to describe the characteristics of God, that’s how important it is. But women have distanced themselves from the purpose of their creation and for many years lived subjugated and humiliated before a society that did not understand the Will of God.
It was during this time, that in order to redeem woman in an admirable way, the Almighty sent His Son to be born of a young woman. An extraordinary project that not even the most brilliant mind could’ve imagined. The Almighty gave Him a mother in our human realm. If in the spiritual realm the Savior only had a Father, in the earthly realm He had only a mother. This meant, God honored and raised the woman again to the place of respect and dignity. Although the Lord Jesus had been conceived by the Holy Spirit, without the egg of Mary nor the sperm of Joseph, it was her blood that nourished the embryo during this time. Her breasts nursed and her arms welcomed this Wonderful baby.
No one valued, honored and treated women so well as the Lord Jesus. We see this in seeing how much value He gave them. Our Savior healed the women of hemorrhage, the crippled woman, He raised the child of the widow of Nain, evangelized the Samaritan woman, assisted to the request of the Canaan woman, spared from death the adulterous woman, he delivered Mary Magdalene from evil spirits, apart from many other examples. And still before all this, the female creation continues living with a deformed identity, because if before women felt inferior to man, today many feel superior. This means that, although she changed her position, she still remained out of the function her Creator gave her. The competition within the home and at work has created disastrous consequences for her personality.
For God, women have so much of a noble value to live the way they are living. Her prestige before the Lord is unmeasurable, so much so that her value is above all the rubies in the world. No amount of precious stones measures up to her importance.
How do you know God didnt create man to be a partner and helper of woman? They are the bearers of children after all.
Well you are right I didn't mention this part because everybody knows this, it's already understood.
I must respectfully disagree, I dont think that view is already understood by many. The ill treatment of women around the world shows that. I think its still going to be a long hard fight for the women of the world to gain equality. I do think its getting better though.
yes the issue of women about equality is so huge. this blog is focusing mainly the status of women according to the biblical ground. everyone has their own belief and I respect that.
The bible says adultery is a sin yet god was ok with Abraham getting his slave pregnant because he thought his wife couldnt have a child. There is plenty more stuff in the bible that encourages ill treatment of women.
I think regardless of our beliefs, we shouldnt blindly take advice from any book.
