Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've posted here. I still lurk somewhat. I've had to rebalance both my priorities and my portfolio that last 6 months. I am still here however, and hope to post on Hive on a more regular basis going forward. Honest it has nothing to do with the bull market coming back! 😂
I finally bought a companion for my dually truck 'The Beast'. It's a 44-foot 5th wheel travel trailer. It is only fitting that I should call it 'The Lair'.
The Lair is a 'toy hauler' class of trailer, meaning it has a 14-foot garage at the back that offers very flexible space-- but more on the gear later.
In this post I wanted to lay down the WHY. I've been pretty disillusioned with the Pacific Northwest economically, culturally, and politically. I've been based out of here for all of my adult life and am ready for a change, and a better place to raise my young son.
Where will we end up? I have no idea. That's where The Beast and The Lair come in. My family is going on the road next spring, both to explore and look for a new place to sink roots. To that end, we intend to either sell or store most of our stuff. Trailer living necessitates that you live a minimalist lifestyle, which I'm rather looking forward to.
For now I've got The Lair parked in a residential area where it will be outfitted over the winter months. I intend to turn the garage section into an office so that I can continue to work remotely as we travel across the country.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to sharing more.
Have you ever considered just packing up and hitting the road, not knowing where you'll eventually end up?
Nice to see your username pop up on my feed again! Hope you been doing well and yeah, post more! :D
I've been wanting to do some longer road trips but for going without knowing where maybe just for some short drives to clear my mind.
Hey bro, thanks for dropping in. Having no planned destination makes for some of the best experiences for sure!
Nice! 😎🤙 that's one great looking lair! have lots of fun it that.
hey, remember this game?
Haha, I am old enough to remember Dragon's Lair! Makes me want to make a custom decal to put on the trailer!
Joshman's Lair
😎 that would rock!
They wouldn't allow you to haul something that long over here, w/o a cop escort!
What exactly are you allowed to do in the UK? lol
Trespass, with getting arrested of course!
Damn
What a trailer!
Cool to see some post of yours again :)
Thanks, good to be back.
That is nice! I hear you on the issues with the Northwest, down here in southern California it's the same! I'm considering selling and moving elsewhere.
That is a huge change transitioning to trailer life, but I've known a lot of people who have done it and have never been happier. It's nice that you can work from anywhere, you have a lot of options and great places to go!

I grew up in SoCal, don't get me started on that hell hole! :-D
I'm ready to get the hell out! Too damn expensive, too crowded, and every year it gets a lot worse!

Good to have you back
This looks fun to me already.
I have considered packing up my things but the thing is I have an on-site job and that won't allow me just to pack my things and move
