Good advice and a helpful reminder. I take a lot of pictures of the sunset and ocean and find having something in the foreground makes the image more interesting.
Definitely good to have some foreground interest in a shot, this one is fantastic by the way, great light! You should enter your own photo contests ;)
Also good overall balance, good use of rule of thirds, converging lines, depth of field, it has it all and is a great shot to demonstrate the art of photography!
