Instead of having the focus on the person, the focus is on the small plant behind him next to the tree. Interestingly enough the photo still conveys the story of exercising outside on a playing ground quite well, while also allowing for the background to get more attention.

Was that a deliberate use of depth of field? In other words, you chose to focus on the background, rather than the person?
Yes it was, been practising with the manual focus override on my lens to make quick adjustments, happened to like this shot
I was obsessed with the depth of field and action shot for a while, still learning to play with these settings but time keeps getting away. You just gave me another trick :-)
Depth of field is really nice, just a pity that good lenses are so damn expensive. I am also just getting into this part of photography and I really like it. It is just that with the 50 mm lens I have to get quite close to my subjects, when doing street photography they might notice me and change their pose

This is like our daily life. Sometimes we are too busy looking at things infront and forget the beauty behind it.
