Something that I've learned on my trip is that traveling has several learning components to it. There are so many things that you will learn when you're preparing to hit the road and then when you're actually traveling on the road itself.
Traveling makes you re-examine everything in your life. Even the most fundamental ideas are up for grabs.
You'll find that even the simplest of tasks become adventures. For example, I needed some contact solution once I arrived here in Amsterdam and it was an entire adventure searching for a store that had contact soltuion.
I ended up finding out a lot about the different shops around here - what they offer, pricing, different brands, etc. - There's so much around here that's just so different than my home town in Chicago.
In my quest for contact solution, I also learned that the people around here are incredibly friendly and are so happy to help a lost tourist find something they need.
Netherlands may be my favorite place in the world! It's so laid back and so friendly. The people here make the place a wonderful experience and I've only been here for a little over 1 day.
A guy who was working at a local Coffee shop (the marihuana kind) gave me a ton of advice on things to do around here and even nearby cities that I should visit. He spent over an hour talking to me and explaining things that I should do.
The funniest thing he said was "welcome to the real free world" when I arrived at the coffee shop. I thought that was pretty hilarious!!
Very nice!
Netherlands is the first country i visited, the first trip i did. In my opinion it's in a whole other level. It has its drawbacks if you stay for a period of time here but as a tourist the experience is awesome.
What other countries are you gonna visit?
awesome photography :))
