Hello there! As I promised in my first post, I'm here to teach you and discuss how to create good stories for an audience and ourselves.
As first obstacle we have the question "What do I want to write about?". Maybe you already have in mind who your characters are, where will your action develop, but... when you have to think about "what is going up here with them?" everything gets blurry and you feel a little lost.
The first thing you need to think about is a topic. As simple as that. Doesn't matter if you are writing a novel, a poem, an essay or a script for a two hours movie. You'll have to "tag" your work (using words from the Tech revolution of XXI century, haha).
"But Ana... Where do I get a topic?" There's plenty ways to get a topic for your story. Here I'll mention a few:
Observation. Look what happens around you. Everything is a potential story. You only have to stop for a second and recognize what is happening there... Maybe there's something magnificent you never noticed.
Concerns. If something doesn't get out of your mind, maybe it's and idea wanting to be a story. Recognize the potential of the idea that gets you restless or a recurring thought that wakes you up at night. It might be a good thing or not, but you can make it into a amazing story.
Pleasures. It's simple: we write easily when we treat with topics that we love. It's one of the best ways to develop the disposition required to create a good story, so think: What would you enjoy the most writing about?
Think about your main topic and meet me here, in a new post, to keep walking in this trip to an amazing story to tell.
Good luck!
