Seeing that it was my Mum’s birthday today, we made an impromptu trip to the beach. She’s always looking for an excuse to go to the coast and heck, who isn’t?
So off we went to chase the sun and explore one of our favorite coast towns.
First stop was the pier where I met my new friend George;
Mind you, my camera has a 35mm lens with no zoom.. so George was very up close and personal...
He looked like he was longing for a chat, so I indulged him. We discussed the weather, politics, the bear market and how terrifying it is that some grown adults act like infants most of the time...
I kept trying to get him to move his head a bit as the harsh sun was casting shadows, but he seemed preoccupied. Then just like that, he was done...
I can’t image what he thought he was going to get out of the conversation...
oh, right.. Did I mention chowder was involved?
Seriously I don’t know anything that is better than chowder on the pier... it’s where we started our beach trip and of course allowed us to meet our friend George.
Then we took a walk around the pier itself and I did try to snap a few more photos, but the light of midday was giving me a bit of trouble.
This scene stopped me in my tracks though, just such vibrant colors and that lovely pop of red...
Red has always drawn me in in photographs and I kept spotting it while on our walk...
The view was stunning, and the sound of the waves crashing on the surf is something I just can never get sick of.
As we made our way back up the pier I noticed Geroge had come to bid us farewell...

I have never had chowder but it looks like the kind of thing I could get onboard with. Perhaps it could be a Steem addition, "Free chowder with every signup". I would make a few alts. ;)

I would bet chowder is very much something you would get on board with.. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like it 👀 plus, it comes in a sourdough bread bowl!
Loving those seagulls, been trying to film some close ups of them for the longest time, but I live far from sea, and when I've ventured there they have been shy, need to go and visit the ocean, miss it!
Nice to see you finished a difficult Steem week on a highnote. Looks beautiful there.

Well, of course I asked.. and of course George knew.. but he said sharing such information would not be good.. as humans do not have the ability to comprehend the deep secrets of the globe we call earth.. but maybe I can get him to make a blog so he can expose these crazy secrets he seems to know all about.
Ah yes, this week was interesting.. and still is I guess, but awhile back I decided to not take things personally here.. just do what I can to help, stand up for things I believe in, and don’t go against my morals.. everything else is just butter. I constantly just look around Steem with a “wtf” look on my face and then I move on ha.

I went to Avila for the first and only time in 2015. I loved it and totally want to get back eventually. My husband and I did this crazy (wonderful) California drive for his 40th. Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, solvang, Avila Beach, Pismo Beach, San Louis Obispo, Morro Bay, San Simeon, Carmel, Monterey, San Jose. It was soooo fun! So much sea life to be spotted from shore. We saw three huge whales just by Avila.

What a trip!! Yeah I’ve been to a few coast towns and Avila is always my favorite.. I like the quaintness of it I guess. We did catch the whales one time, they were absolutely amazing!
I still haven’t hit all the locations on your list there.. I need to explore a bit more it seems haha.
