This week is somewhat of a special one when it comes to my presence on Hive. Several noteworthy things magically turned out to happen in just a couple of days.
4th Hive Anniversary
The first thing to kick off with is the fact that today I've been on this platform for four years. On the 13th of January 2018 I signed up for something I didn't really understand. Steem, a social platform surrounding a cryptocurrency I never heard of before. I can't even remember how I found this little universe, but I was hooked from day one! It seems it was not so long ago, but 2018 is long one. And with 2018 so did Steem left us behind.

Increasing Account Level
Coincidentally, in the week I'm posting since 4 years, I also managed to increase my account level to 60! While many people that started out in 2018 are far in the 70s when it comes to account level, I'm pretty proud of it! To me, the account level shows, more importantly than just HP, how much someone is socially invested in the Hive universe! That also directly explains why I haven't reached 70 yet. I've been inactive for large chunks since my original sign-up.
This year it is going to be different though! My goal is to keep posting regularly and finally make a serious effort to increase my HP and account level. All the while interacting more with the community! For one, I'm well on my way to have a full month of daily posts and am invested in playing #splinterlands and #risingstar!
Going viral
Amazingly, this week I also had a first when it comes to posting. This article I wrote a few days ago got more attention than any of my posts until that day! I posted it in the #stemsocial channel thinking it perhaps might interest my fellow technology enthusiasts. Well, I was right! Suddenly the post got traction on the platform and almost 500 (!) votes followed. It is my post with the most pay-out so far too!
Badge-fest
If the above isn't enough, I also crossed off a bunch of @hivebuzz badges! Including my 250th post and 9000th received upvote:

monthly author badge. I already posted a streak of 13 days this month. The longest streak for me!Next to 2022 freshly starting, my fifth year is now happening too! To start of strong I would like to check off a few @hivebuzz badges in the coming weeks. For one, I would like to check off the

Grateful
All this, wouldn't be possible with those who supported me along the way. I can still remember in the early days, spending hours on a post and not getting many votes for it. Ending up with a couple of votes or cents for a few hours of work wouldn't keep me around. Luckily, some heavier players noticed my work and consistently supported me in growing. In the early days it were people like @susanne @xwalkran and long-time supporters like @erikklok @brittandjosie. Most recently I also received a lot of support from people like @fredrikaa.
For all of these consistent supporters, I'm very grateful! Although my personal influence is very limited, I hope somehow I'm provide something similar to others in the hive ecosphere!
Hive is a special place, with special people. I'm happy to be part of this and would like to say thank you to everyone I encountered along the way.
Thank you, MM
I miss the good old days! Glad I got to «know» you on this platform.
Ha that nice to hear! Likewise! Long time no see! How are you these days?
Congratulations! Good plans for 2022 👍💪

Thanks Erik! Let’s see where we are in 2022!
I just signed up for Liege-Bastogne-Liege by the way! The full distance 🙈
Wow, that's a nice goal for this year! When will it happen?
Btw: if you search good enough in Strava, you can find a comparable ride by me.
Oh cool! I will check that out later! Was it very horrible? My 200> rides are not enjoyable until after I finished and could brag about them 😋
Haha. In fact it went easier than expected. Probably because we were with a bunch where I didn't need to do much work on the way to Bastogne. And because I am fortunate that climbing usually goes pretty well anyway.
(1/3) gave you LUV.
@erikklok
Congrats with all the achivements! Nice to read you started playing Splinterlands! How are things working out for you in the game?
Thanks! Regarding Splinterlands, I just play here and there to get some challenges and make sure I finish the seasons with rewards. In the meantime I’m stacking sps and collect cards from dec obtained through card rentals. I see it as an entertaining way of building some additional growth related to hive. What about you? Are you playing a lot?
Haven't been active that much on Hive last year but have been playing everyday my DQ's on Splinterlands. Already playing since @aggroed turned around to explain to me in person what Splinterlands was exactly (during that time in Krakow on Steemfest it was still called Steemmonsters). It did help me through all the time waiting and empty moments in the hospitals. Now I'm hoping it will help me a bit with some funds to build my own house 😱
🎉🎈🎂🎉🎈
Thanks @arcange, time flies!
Don't tell me... feeling a bit older every day 😉
BTW, do you mind supporting the Hive Authentication Services proposal? That would be much appreciated. You can vote for the proposal on Peakd, ecency, or using HiveSigner
Thank you!
Done! 👌
Happy to support! The result of your work will be huge for all of us! Is there a big team working on this? I have some coding skill in Java and Fortran (I’m a scientific researcher :p). Would be interested to follow the development a bit from the sidelines and maybe at some point contribute (if I have at all the skill for it :p)
Whoah! Didn't know you had been here for 4 years! To me, you pop'ed up quite recently as someone I hadn't seen before (or maybe you had a different profile picture earlier?).
Goes to show that we can improve a lot with regards to content discovery here to help elevate Great creators.
Anyways, happy Hive anniversary! :)
Thanks!
Nope same picture since day one (I believe). I must admit that after the first two years or so I’ve spent long periods lurking and not much interacting on the network. I recently picked it up again. The amount of activity on Hive also feels higher than it was maybe 2 years ago.
Regarding content discovery. Or for me rather discovery of my content by others seems somewhat of an experience thing. There’s not always a clear community for a post. At least not that I know off. Over time I find more and more suitable options. My previous post for example got a lot of attention. I think using the right community is largely the reason.
Yeahhhhhh MM you are 4 so many days here is a great achievement CONGRATS and to many more !
Ha thanks! Keep on rocking for another year!
