Yes,you need to be yourself,but at the same time I believe you need to pay attention to your audience as well.There might be some topic people aren't interested in,so blogging about it may turn out to be a wasted time.

I mean you will see anyway which one of your posts are popular,get resteemd and upvoted,so you should lean toward creating more of those.
