in #blog β€’ 7 years ago

Hello my beautiful Steemit family!

I'm so excited! We finally have a new Traveling with me post. (Sorry I have been away for so long but I'm back!) This time it is about a beautiful place in Thailand πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡, Chiang Mai. I visited Chiang Mai last weekend only for two days so this will be a short post but soon I'll be going back to show you guys way more awesome things.

Chiang Mai is a city in the north part of Thailand we're the highest mountains of the country are found. It was the capital of the Lan Na Kingdom from 1296 to 1768 which later became a tributary state of Siam called the Kingdom of Chiang Mai.
The old city is one of the major attractions in Chiang Mai. This is because compared to other old cities in Thailand, Chiang Mai is pretty much the only one that still has its old walls almost intact.

The old city looks like a perfect square in the map.

Chiang Mai is a perfect place for relaxation, startups, fitness and outdoor activities. It also gives you all the good stuff you can find in Bangkok but way cheaper, like restaurants, bars, coffee shops and shopping. Woop πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Check some of the photos I took while in Chiang Mai:

1.Maya center shopping mall:

One of the closest shopping malls to the old city and located in an amazing area called Nimman.

2.The streets next to the city walls:

In this part of the city traffic is quite slow so it makes it easy to move around.

3.The old city walls:

We could say that Tapae Gate is the most famous gate to the old city. It probably has to do mostly with it being rebuilt on the 1980s.

4.Street bars:

Just like in Bangkok there are some streets full of bars.

5.Buddhist places:

The are way more but didn't visit many. Actually in Chiang Mai there are over 300 Buddhist temples.

Keep the adventures and that kawaii world coming at us πŸ‘

Another fantastic post, as always!

Food looks amazing! I didn't see those when I went there. :(

Which elephant sanctuary did you go to? Chang Siam allows you to take a mud bath and river bath with the elephants, amazing experience! It's hard to scrub them down tho.

To be honest I don't remember the name >.< hehe But we couldn't take a mud bath with them that would have been nice :)

No problem, I can relate. The names are so hard to remember. I only remembered the one we visited because they let us borrow a shirt with the name of the place printed on it and I was able to take a photo. Haha!

You're photos were really nice, I suddenly want to go back for a longer stay. :(
Thanks for sharing!

πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ Thanks for commenting ^^
