One year-in-review email that caught my eye this year was from Starbucks. It wasn’t just about the drinks I ordered (though I’d be curious to see how many caramel macchiatos or pumpkin spice lattes I’ve consumed!). Instead, what stood out was this fun fact: I visited Starbucks in 15 different cities this year.
Loyalty Across Borders
While most of those visits were here at home, seeing that number made me reflect on how Starbucks has been a consistent companion on my travels. Whether it’s a quick coffee run during a road trip or a comforting stop in an unfamiliar city, the brand has a way of making you feel at home wherever you are.
Some of my favorite Starbucks memories from this year include:
Europe and Asia: Sitting with family in bustling cafes, enjoying local twists on classic Starbucks offerings. It’s fascinating how a global brand can adapt to regional tastes while still feeling familiar.
Road Trips: Grabbing coffee during long drives (like our Myrtle Beach trip!) and appreciating the convenience of knowing what to expect, no matter the location.
Starbucks' ability to build loyalty that literally travels with you is a testament to the strength of its brand. It’s not just about the coffee—it’s about the connection it creates.
The Value of Reflection
These year-in-review insights are more than just data—they’re a reminder of how much we engage with the brands we love. For Starbucks, it’s not just about the number of cities or cups of coffee; it’s about how the brand has woven itself into my daily life and travels.
A Splinterlands Wish
As a Splinterlands enthusiast, I’d love to see something similar in that ecosystem. Imagine an end-of-year recap showing stats like:
- Cards acquired or battles fought
- DEC earned or spent
- Land progress made
- Cities or countries where you’ve logged in to play
It would be a fun way to reflect on the year and inspire excitement for the next chapter.
A Toast to Loyalty
Whether it’s through a cup of coffee or a battle in the Splinterlands, loyalty is a powerful force. Brands that foster it, like Starbucks, continue to hold a special place in our lives. Here’s to another year of meaningful connections, whether they’re over coffee, in a game, or beyond!

I wish I would of tried the one in vietnam. I don't think I tried any in asia last time I was there.
Loved the ones in Japan and Korea!
In the nearest city to my town there are 2 Starbucks. Have you visited one of them? The city is San Sebastian in Spain.
One of them is located next to the beach, pretty cool to grab a coffee and have a walk with family or just alone with a relaxing music!
It has been a while since I last went to Spain! Will need to check it out if I do go!
