Making the next step. ( 5 SBI shares up for grabs)

in #blog6 years ago

Official business

First things first. Last week I posted about curation and engagement, looking to see what people’s thoughts and opinions were. To sweeten the pot I was offering up to 5 SBI shares on my post. True to my word and after receiving some fantastic responses I gave out five shares.

From last week’s post, I have given out three shares in SBI to @mmunited and two shares to @revisesociology. Well done and great answers. Unfortunately some great answers that I would have rewarded weren’t followers of my account as stated in the rules and for that fact missed out on any shares.

A lot of the people were already part of the engagement league and loving it. Most of the people are really looking forward to the new minnow league that is starting up this week including myself. If the redfish power up league is anything to go by then it should be a nice competitive and entertaining league.

@partiko featured heavily in the comments section and it’s easy to see just how popular the app has become in such a short space of time. I admit to using it more and more for its ease of use. @curie seems to be a popular choice for a lot of people to engage with. Their curation trail brings upvotes to very deserving authors and the competitions that they run are getting more popular every week. I’ve gotten involved in a few of them and have to say that they do a great job in bringing quality content to the fore and makes it easier for all of us to appreciate it.

At the end of the day, there are lots of different paths that we can take on the steem blockchain to try and increase our revenue and connect with more people but what all of these have in common is that we need to engage with people more often. Put in the time to find the people with good content and who engage their followers. Take the time to leave a good comment and reply to others and in the long run you will find yourself in a much better place.

Becoming a dolphin on Steemit

I have a very simple goal over the next few months. I want to become a dolphin on Steemit. See, simple. While I have bought some STEEM in the past I won’t be purchasing any more as I have a lot of bills to pay and no money to spare. So what then?

Simple. The plan is to work, post, engage and try to earn as much STEEM as possible through hard work and enthusiasm. I already power up all of my current earnings to SP anyway so that won’t be an issue. I joined the site way back in August 2017 and have learned so much since then. I have found my place on the site and some great people who have helped me along the way.

I want to do this because everything that I have seen in the past year leads me to believe that STEEM will be one of the driving forces in the years to come. I believe that in 5 years time the dolphins will be the same as today’s whales. Think about the amount of STEEM that exists, spread across roughly 1 million accounts.

Look at the fact that 36 accounts hold 60% of that, what will happen when there are 100 million accounts and that’s not even a huge number. At the moment there are roughly 2000 accounts at dolphin level or higher and between them they hold 90% of STEEM. I know that more STEEM is created every day but when you have millions of active accounts across all of the apps claiming them it will be extremely tough to earn any significant number. Obviously there should be an increase in the value of the STEEM token to compensate this but I would still like to be in that top bracket when it does. If the price is $10 dollars or $100, your vote will have a lot to say in any matter.

How to get there?

For the most part I plan to get there through activity. Be as involved as possible and help out where needed. The best way to earn STEEM is by being active and engaging. I mentioned the new minnow power up league by @paulag starting this week which will be a good indicator of progress going forward as well as some healthy competition. There are multiple other leagues that can be joined which I have mentioned in other posts and lots of them offer prizes for the top entries. Find the most interesting people out there. Comment, vote and get involved. The more that you can do this the better off you will be in the long run. If people know who you are and respect your input then more people will want to follow you and see what you have to offer.

As you can tell, I am a huge fan of shares in @steembasicincome and enjoy giving them away as prizes. It is great for a number of reasons. I much rather give out SBI shares as prizes than STEEM itself. I do this because it gets people more involved in the blockchain when they have shares, rather than money that they can just cash out straight away. It provides upvotes which can be hard to come by for a lot of smaller accounts and I just like the concept in general. On the other side, I enter a lot of contests to win some shares myself too. There are lots of contests posted on SBI’s discord during the week and I try to earn at least one or two of those every week. It might not seem like much but when you get an upvote every day for 4c it adds up. Keep it up for a few months and it might get to 10c or even 20c. When I started here I used to get that over about 10 posts.

Just from browsing through the contest tag you will be able to find plenty of competitions to enter. Not all of them offer SBI shares but a lot of them offer prizes of STEEM for the winners. Anybody who can pick up one or two steem a week doing these can add to their SP fairly quickly. For me it’s all about getting involved in what interests me and if you can earn from that even better.

So, for the 5 shares in SBI it is very simple.

First of all this is for people who are following my account only.

Secondly I want to hear from you.

What is your goal on here?

How are you planning to get to the next step?

Have you any good ideas to pick up more STEEM?

What contests have you come across?

Where should we be getting involved?

You don’t need to answer all of these questions, but I’m looking for good and interesting answers around these topics. The prizes go to the best answers as usual and these are just the guidelines. Best of luck and waiting to hear some more brilliance from the users out there.

Goal

Simply put: growing together with the Steem ecosystem.
I've started at the beginning of 2018 and even though the beginning was slow I have eventually found my niche and progressed. Slowly but constant, I invested all of the profits in SP and I'm planning on doing exactly the same in the future as well.
There's a long way in front of my to becoming a dolphin, so I'm not dreaming about that just yet. But maybe one day, who knows?

How to get there?

I'm going to continue posting about things that I'm passionate about: food, tech and travel. And I'm very glad to have found a lot of great people that share the same interests.
On my way I came across @Partiko, got engaged with this great community and became a Partiko Partner.
Also using Discord to get in touch with steem members has proven to be very effective. This way I meet new community members, found interesting contests and even organized my own.

Contests

Speaking of contests, wanting to give back a little something to the community I've started hosting a weekly photography contest of my own.
With the support of @Partiko the contest received positive feedback and new participants are joining every week.
Now I'm thinking of a new contest revolving around cooking/recipes and I find your idea about offering SBI as prizes very appealing :)

It's always good to see people who have long term goals on the site. We are only at the beginning here and you can see from all the new developments in the past few months that the journey is starting now.

There's a long way in front of my to becoming a dolphin.

I power up all of my SP now as well and the more you have, the easier it is to keep gaining. My first 9 months were spent reaching minnow status so maybe that goal is not too far away from you. The best thing I did was to get involved in the right communities, add value to them and try to find my place on the site. Someday that will hopefully be as a new dolphin.

I have partiko as well and find it so handy for keeping in touch with my account on here. It's so fast and easy to use that i have become a lot more active on the site just from having it on my phone.

I will have to try out your photo contest at some stage along the way. It looks like fun and just using partiko suits me anyway. I much rather give out SBI shares as prizes than STEEM itself. I do this because it gets people more involved in the blockchain when they have shares, rather than money that they can just cash out straight away. truly engaging post @niallon11. I too am a fan of SBI units. Thank you so much for the shout out. The first leagues post for minnows has just been published :-)

you should check out @coinsandchains Thank you economy contest post
https://steemit.com/contest/@coinsandchains/contest-thank-you-economy-week-8-or-5-sbi-shares

Thanks. I do actually follow @coinsandchains already as i like a lot of the stuff that he puts out. I'm fairly sure that I have entered already this week as I'm hoping to add a couple of extra shares every week. There are so many competitions out there that it's a good way to meet users at the same time.

What is your goal on here?
Make enough money to set up myself to make more money.

How are you planning to get to the next step?
Making a youtube channel will probably be the next step and learning some editing will probably help with that, I presume there are many sites out there that offer guidance based on your skill level

Have you any good ideas to pick up more STEEM?
Do more contests like this, or go outside and work more

What contests have you come across?
This one and many more for SBI

Where should we be getting involved?
It's pointless for me to tell you that, I don't know what you like or what you don't, but if I were to suggest something it would be Blockchain games, they are fun and make a lot of money :D

Money makes money. That has always been the case. It's no different on here where the more SP that you have the quicker that you can earn it. Getting to 500sp took about nine months for me then getting to 2000SP afterwards took about six. You also pick up experience and knowledge along the way which helps to use your existing SP smarter. It all helps.
Youtube can be a good way to earn if you know what you are doing and have an idea or skill to sell. Some people can do very well from it.

There are a few games on here already like super8ballclub, steem poker league and steem games faucet. They allow you to play and to earn at the same time and i think that there is a games platform under development that should be out in 2019. I saw it a while back from a good source. Games are always huge money especially with the demographic that we have on here and could be a huge draw to the blockchain if it is done right. the potential is massive.

Have you heard of steem monsters? If you want to get into it i suggest visiting https://steemit.com/steemmonsters/@dappsify/steem-monsters-raffleception

1-Well, my goal here, more than anything, is to get enough money to finance the start of my projects, but this place is getting bigger and more interesting than I thought, I know it will take time, but I think I can stay there. . several months, what I want from this place is money to buy what I need (for the project), although I can enjoy much more than the objective, because I think this is more interesting than I thought.
2-Well, if we talk about the next step ... I have no idea about that step to start, but I think what I'll do is publish 1 or 2 articles daily to try to do it, my blog is a varied blog that has enough money for the first project, the first thing I will do is tell it on my blog, give thanks and start with the first project.
3-I really do not have a good idea to buy Steem, but I think I'll solve them, although I can have an idea in mind ...
4-I found a contest about to walk on Wednesdays, one about guessing plants, another simple drawing without more, and many more.
5-I do not understand the question of: Where should we get involved? I will say: if we talk about you and me, I would say that we should focus and commit ourselves to give something to the society that gives us something, although I suppose you are giving something to society, I still am not, I will focus on that (or I will try)
Thank you for reading!

Well, my goal here, more than anything, is to get enough money to finance the start of my projects, but this place is getting bigger and more interesting than I thought, I know it will take time, but I think I can stay there.

The reason I started here was from researching the different cryptos and looking for the ones with a viable concept. I joined the site and then got hooked on what was here. That was over a year ago and since then there has been constant development and new ideas. It is a sign of what is to come and i am definitely looking forward to it. There is so much potential on here that it is almost scary. Every week we see a new project on the way and all of those have the potential to add value to the blockchain. It does take time to figure out your place and how to make it work but i assure you that it is worth it in the long run. If the price catches up to the value over the next few years then any steem in your account could be very valuable so it is worth your while now to set yourself up.

There are many ways to earn steem but to get the most out of it you need to be active and engage with the community. It will help you to find what is happening on here and put you in the best position to grow your account. If you have a good project then absolutely tell the story on here. If it is something that interests people then it should get a few people behind it and maybe even some support for it.

There are plenty contests on here and most are simple enough to enter. I enter a good few myself and try to pick up as many shares in SBI as i can. I love the community and it's always nice to get that daily upvote. If you can keep adding them up then it will make a difference over time. For me it is all about making lots of small gains and over time they will add up. I can even see the work i did at the start paying off at this stage and then build from that.

My project, well more than anything, my project is going to try to create a new self-sufficient or self-sufficient energy device, I do not have enough money to finance it, this place will be a help in the long run, in my Blog I will not talk about it until it is the right moment is a project that can fail but I want to try, a failure can be a success!

Hi, nice article! I wish you good luck with your goals :)

What is your goal on here?

So first, a little bit about myself - I'm a programmer, but I always loved art(drawing and 3d graphics) and it is my great passion. I would like to show to people not only my pieces, but the progress I make over the time as well as the whole process of doing my drawings. I wish that someday I will be able to draw creative and beautiful artworks, but that will be a long journey. I'm not losing motivation and I want to work as best as I can. Steemit is helping me connect with people and in future it might help me earn some money - who knows :)

How are you planning to get to the next step?

I need to post more often and I will do that as soon as I finish my Engineer's Thesis for a university. With each post I'm trying to earn a little bit more with minnow helping bots and recently I've started attending in a lot of SBI contests. I have good hopes for the future :D

Have you any good ideas to pick up more STEEM?

For now - bots and joining contests. For future - I'll do my own contests(probably art contests to fit with my account's theme)

What contests have you come across?

Mostly SBI contests about music, logic games and story writing. I've also joined a few giveaways.

Where should we be getting involved?

I didn't understand that question, could you rephrase it?

I wish that someday I will be able to draw creative and beautiful artworks, but that will be a long journey. I'm not losing motivation and I want to work as best as I can. Steemit is helping me connect with people and in future it might help me earn some money.

It's a good goal to have. This can be a great platform to showcase your talents and for me it's just a matter of finding your niche. If you can find that and post good content regularly then over time you will definitely grow your account as well as your experience. If you have the time, i would recommend chasing some of the steem-bounty posts as well as they can earn you some handy steem if you are posting good quality comments. Not huge amounts but they will add up over time and probably more than a lot of the comments that you leave. https://steem-bounty.com/ It's worth a look.

You have a good idea on the SBI competitions as well. I have about thirty shares i think at this stage and can get up to 8c in votes per day from them. Not a huge amount but that is at the current steem price which is low and it's every day. which is a help. I've gotten this far by chasing all the small gains and letting them add up.

Thank you for extensive speech and for steem-bounty site. I actually have seen bounties on some posts and their account, but I never knew they had a website, which will definitely help a lot and I'll try it. Once again thank you :D

No worries. The best thing here is that there is very little trolling. Most of the users are glad to help others and get them going. It's not easy at the start and there is a lot to figure out so the more experienced users you follow the better. Their posts tend to have a lot of good information in them.

For me steemstem and utopian have been very enriching.
Rewarding open source development is really unique.
The concept of rewarding good contributions with crypto is really innovative I think.

You obviously focus more on the development side of things with those two suggestions which is a great part of the blockchain. The variety of projects that are going on at the moment is amazing and we can all find something to follow. There is some great work happening on Utopian which i do look at from time to time but a lot of it is above my pay grade.

Thanks for mentioning us! Glad you see you are having fun and progressing well on the platform! Partiko is honored to be part of it!
