Yes, I think the downvoting is problematic: it's too easy to simply downvote if one disagrees. It's also cowardly, if I may say so. I have, though, seen the potential positive where enough downvotes on bot comments is having the effect of hiding them. Perhaps we need to just wait for things to settle.
