At some point in our lives, we all go through a phase where we feel like everything we're experiencing isn’t leading to something we’ll be proud of. It may seem like all the work we’ve put in over the years is going to waste, along with all the time and effort we’ve invested.
I’ve been through this phase many times, and it has become part of a repeating cycle over the years. It makes me question everything I do and the kind of person I am. It also leads me to compare myself to others who have achieved more than I have. I would say it’s a difficult phase in life to go through—it feels like being stuck in a rotting boat with a broken sail, vaguely drifting over a vast ocean.
I hope what I’m saying makes sense to those reading this post. And although it may have started to sound like a depressing reflection, I want to shift the tone and turn it into a more optimistic one.
We all have dreams or goals we want to achieve in life. If you do, then you're already on the right track. Just make sure you don’t lose sight of them as you get closer to reaching them. Some of us tend to change or level up our goals before we even achieve them. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you don’t overwhelm yourself with uncertainty or create unnecessary stress because of it.
One question I always ask myself is whether things are still within my control.
I remind myself to appreciate every moment when I achieve small successes and make sure I acknowledge them.
Maybe give yourself a little pat on the back once you start gaining traction—it’ll help you feel the motivation to keep pushing forward. And when the time comes, let yourself soar once you've learned how to fly, rather than rushing to take off while you're still learning to walk.
Keep moving forward at your own pace, and trust that every step—no matter how small—brings you closer to where you're meant to be. In the end, progress isn’t about how fast you go but about staying true to your journey.
