Entry no. 6: Things to do in a small village

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

We woke up early, even though we arrived home pretty late the previous night.
I'm not an early riser. I suppose excitement for our adventures was good motivation for me.
Fatigue was starting to set in, but that did not stop us to make the next trip.

After we took the bus the wrong way and got off too early (his idea) , we finally arrived in the small, quaint fishermen village.
The weather was warm, clouds were dancing in the sky and the sea was calm.
The lighthouse was just a little bit taller than the houses. From there, we scoured the horizon for boats and ships.

We wondered around the village, taking photos of frolicking seagulls, beautiful boats and of each other being silly, playing in the sea, without a care in the world.

Our trip had no purpose, other than enjoying ourselves. There wasn't a list of places to visit or things to do. It was one of the most wonderful days I've spent.

Five years later, I visited again the little town, this time with nephew in tow.
I took the right bus this time.

There weren't roller coasters, haunted houses, nothing too exciting for him. But we enjoyed the walk on the beach, watching the boats coming to port and just talking and laughing all the way.

I believe it doesn't really matter what you do but with whom. It can be a significant other, a dear friend or a family member.
