I have my virtues but being a morning person is not one of them. I need my caffeine. I started the day with the last of my Casi Cielo blend coffee and browned butter. I generally take heavy cream in my coffee but I thought I would try something new. I was not disappointed
Brown butter is very easy to make. You just need butter, a cookie sheet and parchment, or silicone moulds, and a saucepan where you can tell when the butter has changed color to well ... brown.
Place the butter in the pan on medium heat and stir until your kitchen is full of the lovely smell of toffee. Okay, I guess you will need a spoon too. It took about 15 minutes. The mixture will foam up a couple times. Here is a helpful video courtesy of youtube. Not mine.
I had some grape bunch moulds and dinosaur ones, not pictured. The grape bunch ones made for lovely almost truffle bites. You pour or spoon the clarified portion in the moulds first and then spoon the brown portion in on top. It will sink to the bottom as everything settles. I wanted a slightly sweet drop, and so I also added cinnamon and vanilla stevia. You can also get creative with nuts and I suppose powdered chocolate.
I admit I was skeptical when I first heard of this low carb, even carnivore if you will have it, treat. But now I am full on sold and will endeavour to always keep a ready supply on hand for my morning coffee and to hold me over in me almost OMAD existence until dinner time.
I always start every morning with a cup of coffee. That I have done since university, but I have also gotten pretty good working in some yoga as well, once the cobwebs have been blown away by the power of caffeine. I have a Spotify list of yoga and meditation music, but I thought I try something different this morning. Not a bad sleep sound track either. Push play; you won't be disappointed
Like with most things, the first few weeks of the yoga was a little stiff. I have been so busy with the house that I have neglected my physical self. Well no more. Now with almost a month of morning yoga, I am almost back to my bendy self and doing some kata has become easier too.
Minme me and I continue to work our way through Long Live the Pumpkin Queen. Jack and Sally have returned from their honeymoon to Valentines Town, where the river flows with chocolate and the unsuspecting must dodge naughty, ne're-do-well cupids. The fierce and lovely Queen of Valentines Town has left Sally feeling insecure. She doesn't feel she is likely to live up the ideal of being queen, even of the spooks. She wants to remain a simple rag doll and is not up for yards of cobweb lace and licorice taffeta. But the denizens of the dark have other ideas for poor Sally. Besotted but busy Jack is too preoccupied with plans for October 31st to really note her distress. The reader is wondering how Sally's wardrobe woes and cupids on the loose are going to work together.

We finished up our homeschooling with a little foreign language study. The day had turned from cloudy and chilly, to warm and sunny. We grabbed the dog's lease and headed out for a spin around town. Tomorrow is Minime's birthday and so I was enjoying the quiet before the storm.
We got home and delivered a pumpkin to my sister's doorstep. I had grown said pumpkin in my very own garden. Minime dressed up as a alien to place it on the front doorstep. Then we joked that the Great Pumpkin was from outer space. No one bought the gag but everyone was excited for the sqaush.

Back at home, I wasn't feeling up to cooking. Okay no ... I did lots of cooking today. But I wasn't up to cooking dinner. We fired up the gas fire pit and roasted some hot dogs. Then I came back in a started the carnivore pizza dough and waffled up some chaffles for the cake tomorrow. Alright I have passed the point of anymore day energy. Time to put some of that ASMR on low and chase some sleepy bliss. Wish me luck tomorrow with our party. Love to you all, Hivelanders.
