Nerd Stark Top Ten: IRON MAN

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

The first time I saw the Iron Man cartoon, I could still vividly remember the awe I felt on how an ordinary could build such a amazing piece of machinery, back then in the cartoon, He carried it around in a case in which whenever he was needed, He could easily suit up and save the day. Since then, I became such a Huge fan of IRON MAN.

Today I've compiled 10 of my favorite Iron Man armors from the MCU and the COMICS altogether

10. MARK III (MCU)
Mark3.png

The Mark III (Mark 3) was the third Iron Man Armor designed and created by Tony Stark and is the successor to the Mark II. The armor was designed with upgraded technology and improved features to surpass its predecessor's capabilities. It's also
is the first armor to have red and gold titanium plating, which was the color of the classic Iron Man armor
The armor that launched the MCU. here you go folks, the Mark III

9. Model 8 (Silver Centurion)
Iron_Man_Armor_Model_8.jpg

When the Mark VIII eventually showed up, it would be just as different of a design from the previous incarnations as the Model III was to the Model II. The Model VIII is widely known as the “Silver Centurion Armor.” It changed the color pattern from red and gold to red and silver and featured the biggest addition to the armor in its newfound “Chameleon effect.” Using this effect, the armor could blend into the environment around it. This was one of the armors that Tony heavily used during the "Armor Wars".
I personally like this because it deviated from the common red and gold color. also, it was one of the first armors to have protective shoulder pads.

8. War Machine Armor MK II (MCU)
PD1340966375324.jpg
I know what you're gonna say, "but War Machine's not Iron Man, He's War Machine" We'll if you think about it, the War Machine armor is an Iron Man armor.
The War Machine Armor, also known as the Variable Threat Response Battle suit, was an armor that was created by the Tony Stark then modified and upgraded from the original armor Mark II by the U.S. Military, which debuted in the movie, Iron Man 2.

It made it's debut in the movie when it was presented at the Stark Expo, piloted by Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes, as a part of a new military team held for the U.S. Military along with the Hammer Drones.
The War Machine Armor has a metallic and silver color plating on it's overall armor design. Since it was formerly the Mark II, only transformed by being weaponized and customized, it retains all the signature features of the Iron Man armor, and is only bulkier and heavier in appearance.

The armor is equipped with a machine gun attached to the left, and two large shoulder packs which carry a powerful, but worthless missile inside.
YOU CANNOT NOT LIKE THIS ARMOR. OKAY? I MEAN WHO DOESN'T WANT A FREAKING MINI GUN ON HIS SHOULDER?

7.MODEL 38 "BLEEDING EDGE ARMOR"
Iron_Man_Armor_Model_37.jpg

This is what Tony referred to as ‘the next step’ after The Extremis armor. The armor is comprised of nanotechnology that is stored inside Tony’s body and assembles into the Iron Man armor when commanded

(I mean, it's literally inside His body!).
It also seems to take a page out of Spider-Man’s black suit as the tech could also morph into clothes, other armors, and other people. Bleeding Edge was also capable of detaching from Stark and forming Iron Man armor separate from him.

6. Model 29 "Extremis Armor"
Iron_Man_Armor_Model_29.jpg

In the modern context of Iron Man, this is probably the most well known and popular set of armor. The Extremis armor featured some of the biggest upgrades to the armor not only in terms of weaponry but its connectivity to other machines and convenience in assembling. The armor features ‘summoning’ technology that allows the armor to assemble around Tony at any point, kinda like MK 42 in the Iron Man 3 movie. This is the predecessor of the "Bleeding Edge"armor and also features an improved self-healing tech and allowed Stark to remain connected to security systems and other networks.

5.MARK XLIV "HULKBUSTER ARMOR" (MCU)
Mark44Hulkbuster.png
The Mark XLIV Armor, better known as the Hulkbuster, is Tony Stark's forty-fourth Iron Man suit, made with the help of Bruce Banner. Created solely for the purpose of restraining the Hulk, it is a modular suit that Stark dons while already in another Iron Man armor, such as the Mark XLIII. It is launched from an orbital tracking platform, known as Veronica.

The suit was specifically designed to match the incredible superhuman strength of Hulk (should he ever need to be subdued), and is powered by over eleven Arc Reactors in order to grant the strength required for such a task. The suit was able to hit Hulk in the face hard enough to knock a tooth out, send Hulk flying two streets away with one punch, and ultimately succeeded in knocking Hulk out when the latter started to calm down after seeing the damage caused. it also can also Replace its Parts should the Hulkbuster armor sustaine heavy damage, the Veronica hovering above the armor will respond to the authorized user's command by sending spare parts to replace the ones that were damaged. For instance, when the Hulk drove a pole into the Hulkbuster's left arm and severely damaged it, upon the command of Tony, Veronica releases several armor parts that would form an alternate left arm for the armor to battle the Hulk.

4.Model 23" THORBUSTER ARMOR"

The HULK wasn't the only avenger with superhuman strength.Unlike the other Avengers, Thor Odinson the god of thunder could have slugfest with The Hulk and still live to tell the tale.

Tony Stark created and used the Thorbuster Armor to fight Thor during the period when Thor attempted to rule all of Earth. It combined Stark's technology with Asgardian magic, and its design was based upon Thor's enemy, the Destroyer.

Origin: A religion forms around Thor in Slovakia and all its members are executed. Hearing their cries, Thor goes to the country and beats the snot out of their army. The US asks Tony to intervene before the U.N. gets involved and he agrees. After a brainstorming session with Doctor Doom, Tony creates this set of armor which is powered by an Asgardian crystal gifted to him by Thor.

3. MARK V(MCU

Who wouldn't want an Iron Man armor inside their suitcase and take out anytime they want?

The 3rd place on my list of armor to goes to the Mark V

The Mark V (Mark 5), also known by it's names as the "Football" and Suitcase Armor, is an Emergency Suit, and was the fifth Iron Man Armor designed and created by Tony Stark. It is the first armor to feature a new portable system that can fold itself into a briefcase and be deployed for use in civilian areas.

The Mark V has red and silver plates, is thinner than the regular plating of an Iron Man armor, and has a weaker armor composition to reduce the weight of the stored suit.

The Mark V is an emergency only suit, and thus is only equipped with the basics of Iron Man's arsenal, namely hand-mounted repulsors. Apart from its lack of heavy weapons and its light weight, it can still fly. However, it cannot reach high altitudes or speeds, and is limited in the weight it can carry during flight, but the advantage of flight means Tony can escape situations that he would potentially lose in without the flight capabilities.

2. Model 2(Classic Armor)
Anthony_Stark_(Earth-616)_from_Tales_of_Suspense_Vol_1_59_cover.jpg

The 2nd place in my list goes to the 2nd armor that Tony made in the comics, The armor that started a whole generation of armors. The forever iconic model 2 also know as the classic Iron Man.

After a disastrous battle with the criminal known as Mister Doll, Tony Stark came to realize that the Iron Man Armor Model 1 was too cumbersome, especially in his state, which caused specially an unnecessary excessive use of energy for the armor to simply sustain its own weight. To remedy this, Tony designed a sleeker, lightweight armor. This was the first armor to don the classic Red and Gold color.

Model 51 "MODEL PRIME ARMOR(All New All Different Marvel)
Iron_Man_Armor_Model_51.jpg

Ultra sleek and ultra adaptable, this armor is my favorite armor of all time.
Tony's new primary armor is his most adaptable, capable of changing shape, size, and color to fit the task at hand. When not being used, Tony can store the entire armor on his wrist in a bracelet.

When 15-year-old M.I.T. student Riri Williams(IRON HEART) managed to reverse engineer some of his past armor technology and posted it online, Tony Stark saw his place under the limelight compromised. In other to remain ahead of the technological curve, Tony decided to shut himself off in his lab and make up for the time he hadn't spent working on new inventions. The end result was the Model-Prime Armor, new suit of armor that could change shape and color based on the task at hand, essentially merging all of his armor modes into a single suit.

I absolutely love this suit because it has all of the previous armors' capabilities jammed into one armor. Plus, when not in use, it can be stored into a bracelet.

This is great! Since I haven't read many of the comics, it's fun to see the armor that doesn't appear in the movies. Thanks for sharing.

I like your choices. All of these suits are worth mentioning because they're just neat. It's always fascinating to think about how much the suits can actually do, and whether or not something like that could actually exist someday.

thanks! do you have a favorite Iron Man armor?
